per Marcus:

David, a University of Minnesota junior tailback, was in kindergarten when his family left Killeen to live near relatives in Mississippi. After one year back in Texas, they were off to Germany for four years.

He didn't return to Killeen until he was in sixth grade. He says he credits his brothers for keeping his love for sports alive while overseas.

"When I look back at it now, it was a great experience," David Cobb said. "But I remember just hanging around my older brothers and just wanting to do everything they did. I fell into sports and loving it like that."

About 40 family members and friends from Texas and Mississippi will be attending the game, also to see Cobb's first cousin, Gophers junior linebacker Damien Wilson, who is from Gloster, Miss.

Go Gophers!!

Good family always shows as the help it can be. Good luck David, I'll be there watching.

Great story and quite a good family.

"Whenever he goes on the field, he'll hit his hand and when he goes off the field, he'll hit his hand," Nina Cobb said. "That's always been for my dad. He and my mother have gone to more games than I can think of."

Cobb's oldest brother, Caesar II, played football where their father did -- at Alcorn State. Daniel played at Texas Tech and finished his career at Louisiana Tech this season.

To this day, the three brothers know how to play piano. Their mother wouldn't let them play sports until they learned a musical instrument as kids to become well-rounded.

Cobb's father took his sons around the world, but he also made them help build the guest house in their back yard. The work ethic he instilled will be on display when Cobb takes the field back in his home state on Friday.
