Both of the athletic 6-foot-4 Doctson’s touchdown catches were in the first half of Minnesota’s 30-7 loss against TCU.

“Playing on the other side of Eric Murray, a great corner, they’re going to come after you sometimes,” Myrick, the team’s fastest player, said. “I took that challenge upon myself.”

When asked if he could’ve done anything different, Myrick said, “I wouldn’t try to jump out of a back pedal.”

Myrick, who finished with eight tackles in his first career start, gave credit to Horned Frogs quarterback Trevone Boykin, who finished with 258 yards passing.

“Great throws always can beat a great DB,” he said. “I understand. It comes with the position. I’ve got a real short-term me

good.

no sense in crying over spilled milk

The first TD, he couldn't have done a thing about. A 6'4" WR in the corner of the endzone makes a one-handed catch on a ball thrown where only the WR could get to it.

The only thing he could have done differently on the second TD is to not turn his body too soon. He's young and has a bright future ahead of him. Both of those throws were about as good as you can get.

The kid was in good position on both plays the WR just and QB made really good plays.

The first TD, that one handed grab by the WR was impressive, and the QB threw the ball only where his guy could get it and come down in bounds with it. That was a great one handed grab. I'm not worried about our defensive backs they play well, the only thing I would add is I hope the coaches let them be a little more agressive at the line and jam the receivers when it is warranted. The jam and disruption is to allow the line more time to get to the quarterback. You can really disrupt the timing of the routes at the line by being physical and getting after those big guys at the line and it is all legal as long as your not obviously holding. Of course you can get burned too but when there is a need to get the line more time it is warranted.
I think we would see a lot more sacks out of TC and Amafuela, even Botticelli and Richardson if given more time to pass rush and possibly get to the quarterback or even a delayed linebacker blitz. With all of this no huddle and quick throws you almost have to play on the ball.

Our kids in the defensive backflied are plenty physical I would like to see Claeys take the gloves off a little at the line and let the boys get a little down and dirty. Myrick is going to be a good one, it is good that he knows to turn the page at such a young age.
