Boddy-Calhoun might be the best athlete in the secondary. He has a 37-inch vertical leap and runs the 40-yard dash in less than 4.5 seconds.

Boddy-Calhoun was an all-state point guard, defensive back and high jumper at Delcastle Technical in Wilmington, Del. He played cornerback at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas for one season before coming to Minnesota in 2012.

Last season, he had an 89-yard interception return for a touchdown in the season opener against Nevada Las Vegas.

Before suffering a season-ending injury in the second game last fall, Boddy-Calhoun was considered the team's top cornerback. But he had to wait for an opportunity to earn his spot back this season.

That happened when he filled in for injury-plagued senior Derrick Wells, who also plays safety now. Boddy-Calhoun has started the past five games opposite junior Eric Murray.

"I think that's why we've been able to do so well (against) the pass," Claeys said. "Because in passing situations, we've been able to move Derrick inside and he's been playing more safety, which gives you a better man-coverage guy in there. ... (Boddy-Calhoun's) injury turned into a positive."

Go Gophers!!

Teams seem to be going after Murray more lately. Both he and BBC are excellent and hope they're both back next year.

It definitely does seem like teams are going after Murray far more then they have in the past. As for BBC the fact that he has come back from a major injury and played as well as he has is simple amazing. After he got hurt I know I had my doubts that he would ever be the same but he seems to be fully recovered and is a key part of that secondary.

I think they will both be back. I don't think either is a top end talent ready for the NFL and would think they won't leave early.

Murray seems to generate some buzz from an NFL standpoint but I would agree that both are probably back next year which would be great for the defense as a whole to have two seniors starting at corner.

I think Boddy-Calhoun has been our best CB this season. At the risk of offending the experts on man coverage and the ability of CBs to turn back and find the ball, I think Boddy-Calhoun does a better job of that than Murray. Murray's a tad bigger and isn't afraid to throw himself around against the running game and that's maybe why he generates a little more buzz and Boddy-Calhoun.

I really like both of them and hope they are back.
