Myrick, in fact, wasn’t being singled out. All Minnesota’s defensive backs have grown used to seeing their screw-ups made readily available. Sawvel, who was promoted to coordinator when Tracy Claeys became head coach in November, makes personal videos of plays that didn’t cut it.

“I’m a fear-of-failure motivated person,” Sawvel said. “If you are going to beat me, you are going to beat me because you’re better. As a coach, you have to prove that your players are better in some way, shape or form. You don’t want to either not play hard or be in the wrong position.”
