per Greder:
P.J. Fleck set out to help kids fulfill their dreams as he was living out his childhood fantasy with the San Francisco 49ers in 2005.
As a short receiver who overcame tall odds to star in high school and college, Fleck had made it to the fringes of an NFL roster when he returned home to Illinois. He would host the annual Live Your Dream Football Camp for young kids at his alma mater, Kaneland High School in Maple Park.
“He would always come back and hold a camp for the kids here, and he would give scholarships for Kaneland kids,” said Tom Fedderly, who coached Fleck in football and basketball at Kaneland in the late 1990s.
