Ironically to list them will get them at least one more mention.

My first nomination.

"Epic Collapse"

I'll go with this one:

“No one who buys a ticket to TCF Bank Stadium should be rewarded with the sight of a middle-aged man writhing on the ground”

I wouldn't say the term 'epic collapse' need be spoken nevermore though, they can still happen (Texas Tech last year felt like a mini-Mason collapse, and the IU game could have easily become one, but for the fumble). But I do think the probability of that term being uttered is shrinking with each game.
Just my $0.02.

Brewsterisms

"Get your chilli hot"
"I'm not that smart"
"It is what it is, man". Means nothing without really having an opinion, that is avoiding answering a question when using
that statement.

"He has great athleticism."

"Prexy K....."
"New Norwood..."

My nominee(s):

"Tremendous"

No one should nominate "is / get your chili hot," however. That phrase has too many uses in the GopherHole vernacular.

Nominee #2:

"Michigan 2003"

" They (Gopher Defense) just can't get off the field." Hope to never, ever hear that phrase again.

"Recruiting rankings don't matter"
"Recruiting rankings are meaningless"
"Big Ten Wins"
"That/This Prexy B/Prexy K"
"That/This Brewster"
"(Verbal) Commits are meaningless"

"Gopher Nation"

With proper apologies; nope, un-uh, never. Always hope that the time comes when because of the long term success of the Gophers there would truly be Gopher Fans across the country, like Notre Dame's "Subway Alumni" or the mythical "America's Team".

A true "Gopher Nation"? Yeah Maxy, that's something to shoot for.

"The fact of the matter is...."
Followed by a completely fact-free opinion.
Made popular by politicians but also utilized during sports press conferences.

"Special Forces" (what D-bag Brew called Special Teams)

Because not making it as a head coach also means that you're a scumbag of a human being.

I'm gonna go with "vanilla offense/play calling."

Earlier this season I would have said, "The score, not counting defensive or special teams touchdowns..."

Jeezo Peezo... Oh, guess that one's been unused for a couple years. :)

How about "Coach them up"? Like EVERY program doesn't attempt to get more out of their players, whether they are 0* or 5*!

"Stepped Up" --

this one drives me bonkers. I've heard coaches use this so often it has become meaningless. How about just once saying someone played better.......instead it's "he really stepped up." My question is where did he step up to - the attic?

Hey, I stand by my description of the '06 Tech game as an "epic bowl collapse" :)

Oops - forgot my other nomination:

"Dialed Up" for a play call. This makes no sense to me. They're calling the plays from a chart. What are they dialing, 1-800-play call?

Masonesque -- although I used it myself in the 4th quarter of the Indiana game.
