Photos of Michigan's rennovated Big House

I wonder how far away someone in the suites is away from the action?

A lot of it looks like the south side of TCF Bank Stadium... on a larger scale. I'm referring to the outdoor club seats, indoor club seats, suites, etc. It is built out a lot like TCF.

Perhaps the same firm designed it. Although, it could just be the trend.

Very nice job.
Compare that to what Wisconsin tacked onto their stadium for suites and club. I bet Alvarez designed it.
Horrible job by Wisconsin.

It needed it!

I've been to all Big 10 stadiums less Penn St. Ohio St. and Indiana. I may be in the minority, but Michigan Stadium ranked near the bottom. I went in 2001 and was not impressed. There weren't many ways to get there. There was a lot of tailgating, which was nice, but not very scenic. The stadium was run down. The restrooms were like cattle milking stations (at least for the guys). The one thing it had going for it....BIG. It was strange to see the crowd do the wave, as it seemed like it took forever. Northwestern and Indiana seemed to get picked on for their stadiums. I'd have to say prior to the upgrade, they were way ahead of Michigan.
I'll look forward to making a new trip to the refurbished Big House.

I may be wrong CW, but I'm pretty sure the renovations were vastly focused on club seating and luxury boxes, of which Michigan had none.

I'm not sure the game day experience will be very different for the average fan. You will probably still be waiting in line for the porta-potties during halftime.

I still think Illinois did the best job with their renovations.

The renovation also added restrooms at both ends of the stadium for the general seating.

Rich-Rod will get to enjoy the renovations for all of one season.

I think they were forced to make some general improvements to both restrooms and accessible seating b/c a project this big meant the whole structure fell under the new ADA/building codes.
