MTSU's starting halfback is one of 49 finalists for the Doak Walker award as the nation's best running back. Wonder if he'll volunteer to cut cards to see if he wins. Clearly, though, they have more than just a Q-back.

Well played. (pun intended)

In all seriousness though, our backfield is a strength. Tanner was our starter prior to a season-ending injury in the second game of the season. He received a medical redshirt and is a 5th year senior. In his absence, D.D. Kyles rushed for 857 yards (6.3 ypc) and returns as well. But Kyles has been bumped down the depth chart by another back who had an even better spring, sophomore Benny Cunningham. We have three quality options that will split carries to some degree, and may even run the wishbone a bit to take advantage of our talent in the backfield.

I know it's just the Sun Belt, but there is more in the cupboard than Dwight.
