Wondering if anybody's heard anything on this kid. Scout shows he has interest from Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa State among others. I've seen his name mentioned briefly in a thread on 2012 MN QB prospects, but nothing recently.

He has been on record as saying wisconsin is his dream school and if he is offered by them hes a lock to go there. His dad played football for the badgers so we do not have much of a chance.

I talked to him at one of the Gopher games. His dad played at Wisconsin and he is one of three top QBs from Minnesota along with Joe Mollberg from Detroit Lakes and Mitch Leidner of Lakeville South.

According to Yetter on the Klein thread, schools that pass on QB Kline from Blaine will regret it.

Kline will be a QB at the next level, whether it's D-2, FCS or FBS. He has the size, speed and skills. The D1's that pass on him will regret it. I don't know what you guys are basing your opinions on, but if you haven't seen him, you're wrong.

Is his family from wisconsin? Why is he at Mankato West? Chris, do you see him getting a Becky offer or a D1 offer altogether?

Whoa...A DL kid is topping the charts? :) Makes my Laker heart swell with pride.

So what you're telling me is that someone went to Madison and then moved to God's country so he could find a real job? Color me shocked!!!

What do we think?

Rivals doesn't have a record of a verbal offer for Nelson. Do we expect that any of these top 3 2012 instate QB's will see verbal offers prior to Sept. 1?

+1

I think Mollberg goes to the U if offered. I know he went to a lot of games and his family has always followed the Gophers. I think he would fit into the system well. He is a good runner, but also has a cannon for an arm.

There are currently no High School QBs of Big Ten caliber in the state of Minnesota.

The closest thing to it is Parsons of Eagan, and he can't stay healthy. If one of those 3 for next year goes big ten, they will not see the field.

Have you personally evaluated each of these players? Mollberg is getting attention from many Big Ten schools, and he plays in a veer offense. Not really an offense that a QB shines in.

For what it's worth, I have heard Mollberg is a Big 10 caliber QB. I haven't heard much about Parsons but that could be because he has been hurt. But i've heard that both Nelson and Mollberg are Big 10 caliber QBs. But the number of Big 10 caliber players always shrinks between JR and SR seasons, so I don't know. I've never seen either of them play. I watched Mollberg's youtube highlights and they are pretty impessive. He is a big kid who moves well with a pretty nice arm.

He looks to be a tough runner. Hard to tell about arm strength on that video.

Yeah, I agree. I posted the video and i've never seen him in person. I just remember hearing about how big his arm was after the Gopher football camp he was at last summer, and I didn't even know Detroit Lakes ran the veer.

I've heard people say he has a really good arm, but yeah, you are right, that video doesn't really do a great job of demonstrating it.
