Phil Miller blog: Maturi: Blame me if you're disappointed

Maturi do the right thing and step down. You will only hinder Jerry Kill from building a winning football program.

Thanks to Joel Maturi for inviting us to a party that we're already attending.

Joel, Give Kill a chance to succeed and resign. Where is Mac Boston anyway?

I don't think Maturi is as bad as some people think he is (although that doesn't mean I am a fan of his). However, he's really becoming a distraction. I think Maturi should announce his intention to retire, and start the search process for the next AD. I'm impressed with Stony Brook's AD, perhaps Kaler could bring him over. Maturi can have his gold watch and plaque, and if Kill winds up winning, Maturi will be remembered much more fondly, even if he did bumble into making a good hire.

rodent...agree....yea!!!!!!!!......goodbye Joel...we laughed ...we cried ...we had fun....thanks for the memories..........Bye Joel!

The fact that we are talking about him as much as we are our new coach, even as people warm up to Kill says something. I liken it to a snake shedding its skin. I take my daughter to the Bell Museum of Natural History, and she loves to pet the snakes. But they won't let her pet the ones that are about to shed their skin, because the snakes are irritable then. But the snake needs to shed its skin, and feels a lot better afterwards. Even if he stays until the end of his contract in a year and a half, announcing his intentions to retire at the end of his contract would go a long ways to calming down fans.

Uh huh. Uh huh. Okay. Um, can you repeat the part of the stuff where you said all about the...things? Uh... the things? Kidding.

I think that you're greatly overestimating the intelligence of this board by using an analogy.

It isn't like Save Gopher Football is going to take an accountability.

No F*ck Maturi, who the hell else would we blame????????

Good thing, I actually like Kill... I'm just mad at Maturi's false promises.

Haha, nicely done.

Thanks to Joel Maturi for inviting us to a party that we're already attending.

And it's a raucous party to boot! It was supposed to be a champagne and caviar thing, but given the circumstances it turned into a listening to sad songs, while simultaneously sobbing gently and taking pulls from the whiskey bottle event.

He also took all the credit when he hired Brewster and said it was all on him. Then when he failed, Maturi said he couldn't get a good coach because it was too late in the season.

Don't worry about the boosters, players and alumni, most will support Coach Kill and do whatever it takes to get a winning pgm. Just don't have Maturi ask for anything but his own walking papers.
