Our Gophers need to be ready to play on Saturday and can't look past them. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer at all. Just saying.

You are absolutely right. We are a good enough team that we should dominate Penn State. We are not a good enough team that we can play like we did against Iowa or OSU and still win. Huge win last night, but we have to take care of business.

Yep, spot on. PSU has competed their fannies off all season despite difficult circumstances. They've been competitive in a lot of their games, including a few vs. the upper tier.

They looked tough against Michigan at Michigan right down to the end of the game, Michigan had a little to much firepower offensively, get in that type of game against the Gophers and it could go either way, I really don't want to see Penn State only down 3 with a couple of minutes left.

Very important to play well in this game and come in focused right away. I think it will help with the focus with it being Senior day and would expect another big game from Rodney and Trevor.

Their last three games have been good ones, within 10 points in all of them. We need to bring our B1G game to win.

Upsets happen, we saw that last night. It's good to celebrate, but the Gophers are going to have to take Penn State seriously. Play them as hard as if you're playing the #1 team, and things are fine. Take it for granted, and ugly things can happen.

The fact that it's senior day, I would hope emotion and fire wouldn't be an issue. At home we haven't really shown issues in coming out with a lot of energy. Sustaining that effort on the other hand....

But against a PSU team, just execute your offense and play hard on defense and that should be enough to send Mbakwe, Williams, Welch, and Ingram away from the Barn with happy thoughts.

Why as a fan base is our first reaction after shocking the world is talk of being upset by a previously winless team in conference play.

Do you think if Wisconsin or Iowa just knocked off number one that their fans would suggest they would lose to PSU in their next game?

We need to adjust our attitudes around here.

The decades of having our hopes built up, only to end in disappointment might have something to do with it.

Because after our last big emotional victory (rival Wisconsin in overtime) we came out and gave our worst two performances of the season. I don't think it is unreasonable or un-fanlike to say that it is important that we not do whatever the heck we did after the Wisconsin game. Penn State is bad, but they aren't exactly Southwest Wisconsin Polytechnic High School for the Blind. They have hung in there with some good teams, and they are running out of chances for a conference win, I think we see their A-game.

I think we will win, but our team has played games this year where I feel that if we replicated that effort against PSU, we will lose.

Penn State is currently down 3, 74-71 at home to #4 Michigan, 5:25 to go on BTN if anyone else is interested. We won't beat Penn State just by setting foot on the floor with them. It's a game we should absolutely win, but we will need to give a good effort.

EDIT Penn State hits a three, tie game!

EDIT 2 Penn State up 79-75, 2:05 to go.

Wow this penn state game is great. They are gonna score 80! Penn State isn't gonna lay down for us.

Wisconsin is going to sneak into a top two spot.

Hope we get a wake up call from this. Can't take PSU lightly at all.

Side note: TERRIBLE loss for Michigan.

told you penn state was a punchy team. good for them.

p.s. love seeing SCum (a.k.a. meatchicken) get beat in anything.

Good call, although they are thankfully a completely different team on the road. To tell you the truth, they for some reason or another just match up really well against Michigan. Hopefully that doesn't happen to us.

That win jumped Penn State up 14 spots in RPI (now sitting at 186). If we win perhaps at least it'll be another top 200 win :)

Did they storm the court?

They did, the guys on TV were saying that fans started showing up at the arena late in the 2nd half when it looked like PSU could win, simply so they could storm the court.

Tubby should have signed Chaska's Ross Travis.

Not sure if serious or not, but that's like the 20th player people have been saying Tubby should have signed. Who do you take him over, Hollins or Coleman?

Without seeing much of him and just looking at stats, it seems like Travis is a good rebounder but shoots even worse than Coleman. 9-63 in his career from 3-point land and shooting just 33.9% overall this year. Yikes!

As for the Penn St. win, not sure if this will make a difference on Saturday or not. I'm sure their confidence will be the highest all year but we'll see.
