It should be noted the Nittany Lions pulled out of the 76 Classic in Anaheim. The field includes Cal State-Northridge, DePaul, Murray State (the team that replaced the Nitts), Oklahoma State, Stanford, Tulsa, UNLV and Virginia Tech. My guess is Ed DeChellis withdrew from the tourney because of the possibility they could play Virginia Tech, an opponent already on their schedule.

The Quote from the Coach --
"I think we've put together a very good and very challenging nonconference schedule," DeChellis said. "Our guys will be challenged in some difficult road environments at Mississippi and Virginia Tech, and I know our fans will really look forward to Maryland, a team that was co-champion of the ACC last year, visiting the Jordan Center. Those are three good major conference teams. And, there are some teams in there like a Fairfield that may not be as well known, but were strong last year and return their core players and we fully expect to be a tough game."
