At the risk of getting yelled at for starting a new Penn State thread I decided to anyway because I had an interesting thought (and they don't happen that frequently). So I am watching the Penn State game replay right now on Big 10 network and it occurred to me that Penn State is losing to a team that in general in previous years they would have defeated handily. Why does this matter? Because Penn State is pretty much the same team from last year with a lot of stud 4 star athletes and recruits with great football pedigree. The big difference as we all know of course is that horrible things happened to their program during their off season and their coach is now dead. The reason I bring this up is because how important attitude, belief in oneself, team and coaches and personal motivation really matters. Last year, the Penn State players had belief in themselves, coaches and their system. This year so far not so much. Of course things can change but the main purpose of my thread is that if you do believe in yourself and your team and you have some talent there is a pretty good chance you will win and of course if you don't, it really doesn't matter how much talent you have.

WHO WOULD EVER YELL AT YOU FOR STARTING A NEW THREAD??? :)

They did lose their number 1 receiver, number 1 RB, and an All-Big Ten K/PR as well as a number of depth guys. It's really not accurate to call them "pretty much the same team from last year...".

Also, Ohio was picked by many to win the MAC and someone from SI picked them to go 12-0.

Bad Karma! Glad the Bobcats beat them at home.

Hell, they lost more than that. Everybody except McGloin and their center graduated or transferred. Only four starters returned on defense.

I understand what you are trying to say, if you expect to win that can sometimes be the difference maker.

The Paternos want the game re-evaluated by the BIG commish. They don't think they lost.

Okay posts, but talent counts too. The last 30 years of Goph football show you need both to be good and a good attitude and some talent to be decent.
