Penn Patriot News Read on '09 Gophers

Aside from the fact that Al Gore never claimed to have invented the internet, Gopher wasn't the internet. Gopher was an application created at the University of Minnesota that was used before the WWW. People often confuse the Internet and the WWW, but they aren't the same thing. It's like confusing the highway with the cars on the highway.

That being said, the offensive line is going to be severely challenged. Eat the sack or throw it out of bounds, but we can't afford interceptions. We can't afford mistakes on defense, on Purdue's last TD, where the receiver was ignored. We have a chance, but we can't afford to help Penn State out, we just can't overcome both ourselves and Penn State. One or the other, but not both.

Check your facts before writing!!

Quite a summary, but the writer didn't do all the appropriate homework--last time I checked, Brooklyn Park was in Minnesota, not Michigan, so maybe there's a different Eric Ellestad kicking for us?? Maybe a more astute GHoler can find other things I couldn't pick up on...

The article was probably written by a Penn St. grad, what do you expect?

One change since written...

No problem GF. Along with the miss on Ellestad's home state, there's some name-related typos (Coach Brewer; Dan Oreske). And, as we all were reminded at Homecoming...Minnesota is indeed the origin of cheerleading in college football.

The one big thing that's changed is that the line has moved since this was written...from PSU -15 to PSU -17. Can't fault the author for that one...just the bettors!

Go Gophers! Beat the Lions!
