She certainly has legions of fans and some that don't like her, but at the end of the day, few have done more for the women's game than her. Early onset dementia, and certainly Alzheimer’s is a tragic disease that impacts so many more than just the diagnosed. It looks like Pat's hard exterior will help her through this:

"There's not going to be any pity party and I'’ll make sure of that."

I haven't watched much WCBK since Lindsey and them had their run but Summit is pillar of coaching, no doubt. Even if one doesn't like her or the sport, can't wish this on anyone. Sucks. My uncle has the same thing, is a successful therapist, and is having trouble giving up working.
 

I don't watch women's ball, and I've never been a fan of Summit. But with that being said, my thoughts and prayers are with her. It's a tough situation.
