I don't think Teague will be blamed for the extension. It was my understanding that he put into writing an agreement that Maturi basically made on the why out the door after dragging his feet. If that's the case, I don't want to fault Woody for living up to a commitment made by his office prior to inheriting it.
I always try to figure out just who is responsible for what in Gopher Football and Basketball. Thanks for your response. It would appear that you place the responsibility for this extension on the former athletic director who is currently being paid very handsomely for what ever his official "unofficial" title currently is.
How many coaches has he "unofficially" officially extended on his way out the door? Is he responsible...or...would prexy k be responsible, because prexy k has been in charge of everything since before the former athletic director became the former athletic director currently on the payroll for what ever it is he does in his "unofficial" capacity. Or, is prexy k merely following orders that prexy b left on his way out the door from the prexy's office as he transitioned into his new office that sounds like some sort of "think tank organization" that he set aside funds to create while he was still the acting prexy at the U?
It just seems to me as though the administration at the U has set up a scam in which NO ONE in administration is EVER held accountable for anything.
It would seem to me that Tubby Smith is NOT the person responsible for this latest extension that makes the buy out cost so much more expensive SHOULD our new norwood FINALLY take responsibility...take charge and take control of the office of the athletics director of the University of Minnesota and totally back Tubby or buy Tubby out and hire a new coach.
Just when does our new norwood's responsibility for the position he holds take effect?
Or, is our new norwood merely a fall-guy for our somewhat new prexy's moves in the athletic department? Perhaps prexy k hasn't been in charge long enough to be accountable either...Is anyone ever there long enough to be held accountable in the administration at the U?
It also seems to me that old administrators and prexys at the U NEVER really go away: they just transition into new offices and unofficial, but still highly paid positions that have no accountability...but, perhaps still do have a LOT of impact on what happens and what does not happen within the athletic department at the U...
