Agree with much of what Forde says in the article, except for the implication that Tubby isn't happy in Minneapolis while wearning "snow boots." :rolleyes: Seems contrary to everything he has said and he also negates to mention that Tubby's name was brought up for other jobs almost exclusively by media outlets, not by Tubby or any of the schools with openings. I know, I know, just details!!!

But overall, he's right that some of these are kind of puzzling, especially the Massimino to Northwood hiring :confused: I remember thinking that was kind of randomly out of left field at the time.

He doesn't "get it" that Minnesota is among the Top 10 schools at producing NBA players. The U has a very good BASKETBALL tradition prior to the Monson years. Basketball is VERY BIG in the state.

With the right AD and University President, it's no surprise that a topnotch coach would be attracted to Dinkytown.
