Sports Illustrated’s Pat Forde has Minnesota as one of his picks of programs nationwide that could climb the ranks. On the College Football Enquirer podcast, Forde cited Minnesota’s returning starters, veteran quarterback Tanner Morgan and 1,000-yard rusher Mohamed Ibrahim while making his case.
“Big Ten teams are going to get a ton of respect —they always do — if you piece together a winning streak,” Forde said. “And I think they can.”

Minnesota defied expectations in 2019, when they finished second in the West and 11-2 overall. Those two losses? Yeah, Iowa and Wisconsin.
