per Donnelly:

Say what you want about the Gophers - at least they're rarely boring.

"I didn't think we could find a more heartbreaking way to lose than we've done," Richard Pitino said Tuesday night, a few minutes after his team proved him wrong in a 77-75 loss to Iowa at Williams Arena.

Minnesota fell to 0-5 in the Big Ten thanks to many of the same flaws in their game that Purdue, Maryland, Ohio State and Michigan exposed and pounced on at various times in their first four losses. Iowa shot 61.9 percent in taking an 11-point halftime lead. The Gophers missed the front end of two one-and-one opportunities in the last 3 minutes. They gave up 13 offensive rebounds, including one maddening possession in which Iowa scored on its fourth crack at the hoop.
