The Good?: A potential meeting with Kentucky in the championship game of the Cancun Challenge.

The (not so) Bad?: The 'Hoos have 4 BCS schools on their schedule. ... Auburn, Penn State, South Florida & Stanford.

The Ugly?: It's surprising a program of Virginia's stature doesn't have a single NCAA qualifier on its schedule, not even from a lower-tier conference. And any major program that schedules NJIT (dead last in the RPI last season) deserves a slap on the wrist.

Ugh. That Home Schedule is actually worse then the Gophers. Zero games I interested in going to, even if the tickets are free.

I agree, Tony Bennett's first year at UVa doesn't offer a stellar home sked, but I'd give Virginia a slight edge on the home schedule.

Penn State (BCS opponent expected to compete for at-large bid), always-solid UAB and Rider (should be one of the better teams in the MAAC)

is greater than. ...

Saint Joseph's, SFA and Morgan State.

A reasonable argument could be made that Penn State, UAB and Rider all will be better than Saint Joe's, which lost its best 2 players (Nivins & Carr).

Eh. It is marginally better then Minnesota's. In terms of 'interest' though I dont' find a game against Penn State signfiicantly more exciting then St. Joseph's. SFA, Morgan State, UAB and Rider are all 'meh' games.

And at least fans at Williams arena get to wach an exciting probably-ranked home team. UVA themselves will likely not be very good once again, though Bennet definately has them on the right track.

I think they're having trouble selling tickets, because they're offering a package where you can just buy the ACC games. With this non-conference schedule, why would anyone buy a full season-ticket if they can just get the ACC games? The JPJ may be like a morgue for the non-conference games. We'll see.
