The Good?: The Hawkeyes get a chance to make a major statement when they play Texas in Kansas City.

The (not so) Bad?: Kudos to Todd Lickliter. This is a pretty decent schedule for a team expected to finish dead last in the Big 10. There are 3 BCS opponents on the slate, as well as defending MVC champion UNI and a solid Duquesne squad from the A-10. Mid-majors Bowling Green & Drake shouldn't be cakewalks, either.

The Ugly?: Things are likely to get worse before they get better for Lickliter & company. If the Hawks can duplicate what they did last season, be a tough out at home and spring a few upsets along the way, consider it a big step in the right direction.
