I'm taking my dad to the game Monday for his birthday. We're looking to get some lunch before the game at Sally's or another place in that area. Where's the best place to park? Not a big deal if we have to walk a few blocks.

If you're looking for free parking. Me and my buddies always park over around the intersection of Como Avenue and 15th Avenue (The street that the McDonald's is on). There are several neighborhood streets around there with parking about a 15 minute walk to Williams. It is great because there is zero traffic going home. I've parked around there for every football game and basketball game and highly recommend it to anyone willing to walk a mile for free parking and no traffic.

Agree. Park in the Van Cleve Park Parking Lot off 15th and Rollins. It will be wide open on NYE. 10 to 15 minute walk. Lots of on-street down Rollins as well there.

Also remember that school isn't in session, so there is likely to be ample metered and free side street parking between 94 and Washington, especially if you are getting there early to have lunch.

There's a huge free lot on the street that runs behind the old Leaning Tower and that chinese buffet. Just passed the apartment complex University Village is an office building that is open to parking. Probably 10 minutes brisk walk at a good clip.

This is what I use. It's not the Chinese lot, but it's one that belongs to some sort of employment/staffing services company. They usually have a sign out that says free event parking, but sometimes it's not out. Either way I've never had any problems here and it is about 10min walk.

parking meters will be enforcefd today but not on Tuesday...according to the StarTrib

Hey Iowa

Spend the money and park as close to the Barn as possible. Your dad will appreciate it. It's one game. Walk a mile in Dec/Jan?................what a bunch of cheepos.

Back in the day I would make sure I was there two hours before game time and park in Station19 parking lot across the street.....wow, what a coincidence.
