The Minnesota Daily ran a story today about talks aimed at reevaluating the the restrictions on stadium-area business owners who would like to park a few cars on game days. It sounds like some people are at least recognizing that things could be improved.

It's just been silly of the city to crack down on illegally selling parking spots that these businesses own. The law is aimed at increasing pedestrian traffic and keeping the whole area from turning into a sea of surface parking lots like the area along Washington Ave downtown used to be. But that can be prevented through good zoning reviews with new construction and it doesn't hurt anyone to let the business owners sell a few spots 7-8 times per year.

Seems like a no brainer to me to allow businesses to recoup some of the revenue they may lose from the traffic disruption during games.
