Gophers: Have lost three straight (only team in conference on such a streak), having scored no more than 69 points in the skid. Their offense looks stagnate and their defense not much better. At this point, there isn't a team in the league playing worse than Minnesota as one of the losses in its last three came against bottom-feeder Indiana. Rodney Williams has proven to be a complete bust and Trevor Mbakwe looks completely worn down. Big bright spot is always Blake Hoffarber. Chip Armelin is looking better and RSIII, though soft as a marshmallow, is scoring consistently in double figures.

Illinois: Not playing much better than the Gophers, losing three of its last four, including a defeat at Indiana. Hands down, the Illini have superior talent across the board than Minnesota. However, they don't always seem to play united. They could be the most schizophrenic club in the conference, beating teams like Wisconsin and Penn State and losing to Indiana and Northwestern.
