per the Pensacola News Journal:

Former Pace High kicker Ryan Santoso may have made a bit of NFL history in his debut with the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Santoso handled kickoff duties for the Titans in a 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts just days after Tennessee signed him to pair with veteran kicker Ryan Succop. On six kickoffs, the 6-foot-5, 258-pound Santoso forced five touchbacks.

Santoso’s debut was considered historic by some Indonesian media outlets.

Liputan 6, the flagship news service for the Jakarta-based SCTV broadcast company, wrote that Santoso was the first player of "Indonesian descent to perform in the NFL."

Similarly, Kompas – Indonesia's largest newspaper and fourth-largest worldwide – described Santoso as the first player of Indonesian descent to make the NFL in 2018 when he signed with the Detroit Lions during the preseason.

An American citizen, Santoso's Indonesian heritage is traced to his father, Riyanto.

A nationally ranked kicking prospect at Pace under head coach Mickey Lindsey, Santoso had a successful collegiate career as a punter and kicker with the Minnesota Gophers from 2014-17.

He went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, but earned a preseason stint with the Detroit Lions and played in the Canadian Football League this year with the Montreal Alouettes.

Go Gophers!!

He never gave up pursuing his dreams. Great job!

Hard to find a stronger leg than his!

Nice. Also gives a team a pretty decent backup punter.
