Not sure if any of these other schools offered but I found that Oregon, USC, LSU, Texas COULD have been in the coach search market when PJ signed on with the Gophs.

Purdue was rumored, but I have no substantiation.

Coyle stated that he tried to woo him to Syracuse, but PJ said no.

A Big Ten gig was what he wanted.

My gut says that Coyle knew the day he was hired who his coach was going to be regardless of Claeys performance.

Just my opinion.
