I know I must be drinking the Kool-aid and someone spiked it ... however I am making my 2016 prediction that the Gophers make a New Year's day bowl. Not only will Mitch Leidner show that he is a D1 QB .... he will make an NFL roster (at least practice squad) the following spring. Happy New Year to all those who frequent the Gopherhole.

Hmm, Outlandish prediction:

Claeys will lose 80 lbs. over the summer after working with Pitino on the Mo Walker diet (in bookstores soon)!

Gophers will go 10-2 in regular season dropping 2 non-conference games and going undefeated in the B1G. Win B1G title game over Michigan to get title and the Jug!

Gophers will lose in Big 6 bowl game to (SEC school of your choice).

Leidner will sign with a Canadian football league team, Eh.

Sawvel will be hired as Head Coach at Northeastern Central Plains State University.

Some people on this board are obsessed with the physical appearance of our coach. It's weird.

I'm thinking next year we'll be talking about Leidner's tight spirals. That would be awesome.

would the Jug even be up for grabs in the conference title game?

I'm not, but I thought I could make fun of those that do!

I like it... I like it a lot.

Jerry Kill becomes the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mitch Leidner will finish his career 2nd in all-time passing yards at the U of M - and Wait! What! will criticize him after every game.

Ok ... one more outlandish prediction ... Folks who post on Gopherhole will be nice to each other even when one of them makes a stupid post. I know ... not going to happen.

Shut up you idiot.

Is this thread for 2016 or 2017 predictions?
Because yours is both

You are correct. Never thought of that. If Leidner makes the NFL it would have to be in 2017. We will call it a continuation of 2016.

I don't care what our coach looks like. This has nothing to do with aesthetics. I do, however, care about his longevity. Speaking in terms of probabilities, his weight and age indicate that he is entering a perilous time of life. Anecdotal evidence of productive 70-year old obese people does not change the odds facing our coach in his present state. I think there is a lot of denial in this country where this topic is concerned. It is common for Americans to neglect basic health maintenance and just get too big, all the while assuming that catastrophic events only happen to other people.

I love Prediction #2. Entertaining this notion might get me through this purgatory of a basketball season. Thank you!

Minnesota’s offensive prowess forces Jaime to switch from screaming “Case IH Red Zone!” to unleashing an earsplitting “Case IH Maroon Zone!!!!”

Mitch will be invited to NY for the Heisman and will end up 2nd

It's funny - when it's Bielema or any other supremely fat coach it's mock and ridicule, but when it's the gopher supremely fat coach it's "quick talking about it and get a life."

I couldn't care less if a coach is big and fat, but I do think it plays a minor role in recruiting. If someone is going to ask me to put in a ton of physical work playing college football I'd prefer that be a guy who also takes care of himself.

Gopher's pull an Iowa and go undefeated in the regular season. Keeping the Victory Bell and winning back Floyd and the Ax.

Gopher's play Michigan in the Big Ten Championship Game for the Championship and the Jug, and win.

13-0 Gophers go to the playoffs.

Go away bad dream.
