Wow! What a game! Maybe the Gophers were watching. Fan support is awesome.

I said I would have taken a Gophers victory in a heartbeat over the Twins and Vikings winning, but I might have been too hasty. Watching Farve and the Vikings last night and now this Twins game tonight has eased quite a bit of the sting from Saturday (But not all of it).

Some day the Gophers will have that home field advantage to pull out the close ones! make it soon please!!!!!

I might be the only Gopher/Tigers fan on the planet, so the outcome was less than preferred for me, but I will say that was one of the most exciting baseball games I've seen in a long, long time. Defensively and offensively.

Thought Gardy might have been over-managing his pitching staff, but it worked out in the end for him. Leyland left Rodney in for 1 inning too long. Shoulda brought in Perry. Oh well, good luck vs. the Yanks.

That will go down as one of the top five games in Twins history - what an incredible, incredible game with unlikely heroes, amazing plays, loads of drama and the first team in MLB history to come back to win the division after being down 3 with 4 to go.

Gardy deserves Manager of the Year after all the injuries we suffered this year, and of course Mauer for MVP.

WOW!

The Twins will miss the Dome - we are going to an amazing new park, but the Dome has been very good to us.

WIN TWINS!!

Detroit should be steamed. Inge got hit. Of course the flip side to that is the likelihood that the Twins would have runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out in the bottom of the 12th following Casilla's hit. Either way, great game by both teams, luckily the Twins came up on top. They looked like they are completely overmatched against the Yankees, but if recent history has taught us anything, it's that the "best" team doesn't always win the series, it's the team playing their best at the end of the season. Let's go Twins!

I almost had several grabbers tonight. Good thing there was a bunch of Plavix commercials, so i know what to ask my doc for tomorrow.

Being a transplanted Michigander, I share your pain. I still get misty eyed when I see highlights of Kirk Gibson in Tigers garb. Still a great win. I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but if we were still in the metrodump our homecoming game would probably be getting moved to Friday night.

No, it wouldn't. Saturday's an off day.

Initially I felt that way, but also acknowledge that I hate the rule about the jersey/uniform getting hit is a BB. With as baggy a jersey as some guys wear, and Inge wears about the baggiest, its a ridiculous rule. Still had he been awarded 1st, we could still be playing and who knows, Inge could be pitching. Hell, he's played everywhere else on the field.

how did the Gophers not get in on this wave of positivity in Minneapolis....pisses me off. Favre/vikings yay, twinkies yay....c'mon gophers, a win over the badgers would've made this a weekend for the ages.

Dont forget the wild!!!!

sorry, the Wild just aren't on my radar until they make the playoffs, I'll watch Gopher hockey, and going to a Wild game in person is sweet, but other than that, there has to be one local sport that I don't follow as much in the fall.

What Gardy deserves is a pink slip. This team has succeeded to a degree despite his consistent mismanagement, brainless lineups and rampant overmanaging. He's part of the old style baseball thinkers that eschew advanced statistics and have positional biases. No matter what he's going to stick a slap hitting middle infielder in the 2 hole even though wasting so many ABs over the course of a season on low OBP guys like Tolbert costs a ton of runs.

The man bunts and wastes outs like they're going out of style to a degree that's baffling.

Hell, leading off Gomez at all should be a fireable offense.

+1 my good man. I'm not convinced that the Twins will ever do more than win the division with Gardy at the helm. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a pretty good manager...just not the guy to get us over the hump.

for the next few weeks I'm saying "cleveland indians who???" and rooting for all my fellow gopherholers and their Twins!! Lets go coach up the Yankees...damn I hate the Yankees more and more each year.
