Wow! What a game! Maybe the Gophers were watching. Fan support is awesome.
No, it wouldn't. Saturday's an off day.Being a transplanted Michigander, I share your pain. I still get misty eyed when I see highlights of Kirk Gibson in Tigers garb. Still a great win. I don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but if we were still in the metrodump our homecoming game would probably be getting moved to Friday night.
Detroit should be steamed. Inge got hit. Of course the flip side to that is the likelihood that the Twins would have runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out in the bottom of the 12th following Casilla's hit. Either way, great game by both teams, luckily the Twins came up on top. They looked like they are completely overmatched against the Yankees, but if recent history has taught us anything, it's that the "best" team doesn't always win the series, it's the team playing their best at the end of the season. Let's go Twins!
how did the Gophers not get in on this wave of positivity in Minneapolis....pisses me off. Favre/vikings yay, twinkies yay....c'mon gophers, a win over the badgers would've made this a weekend for the ages.
What Gardy deserves is a pink slip. This team has succeeded to a degree despite his consistent mismanagement, brainless lineups and rampant overmanaging. He's part of the old style baseball thinkers that eschew advanced statistics and have positional biases. No matter what he's going to stick a slap hitting middle infielder in the 2 hole even though wasting so many ABs over the course of a season on low OBP guys like Tolbert costs a ton of runs.Gardy deserves Manager of the Year after all the injuries we suffered this year

The man bunts and wastes outs like they're going out of style to a degree that's baffling.
Hell, leading off Gomez at all should be a fireable offense.
