I haven't been following it very closely, but every year I place bets on most of the New Years Bowl games (and the non New Years BCS games).

I wasn't really following the lines very closely but I stumbled upon something that seemed pretty surprising to me. TCU is favored by 3 against the Badgers. It honestly shocked me.

I can't really make a big bet on it because I just can't spend New Years rooting for Bucky but that really seems like an easy bet. In my opinion, Wisconsin wins that game 7 out of 10 times.

Did anyone else find this surprising?

TCU has been favored since this one hit the boards. It shouldn't be surprising - they are undefeated, their O and D lines (as their fans will tell you, incessantly) is as big or bigger than ours, and their run defense is one of the best (the best?) in the country. Their fans tell us we have never seen speed like their offense has in the Big 10 (you know, the big, slow conference). They are kind of SEC-lite, but with a BIG chip on their shoulders, much of which is understandable, albeit tiresome to listen to.

Vegas lines are designed to get people to bet money - an accurate prediction of the game winner is secondary. However, I think it will be a Battle all afternoon (someone described our running game and their rush defense as an irresistible force meets an immovable object) and am getting increasingly nervous as game time gets nearer.

Edited for missing word.

That just makes it even more odd, imho. I assume your average sports-better sees a Big Ten team against Texas Christian and at least partially assumes the team from the AQ conference is better, especially with the gross numbers the badgers were putting up in the second half of the season.
As someone who doesn't know a ton about this stuff, I'd put plenty on wisky if I had to bet this game.

I love Patterson and what he has done with the program, he was numbers 1-5 on my list of coaches to hire. (I know it was irrational, but we all have dreams.) He has done a great job, but I just don't see how he can deal with the Badger o-line unless his offense just plays great. His d-line should be exhausted by the end of the third quarter unless they have gotten turnovers and are ahead. I would love to see the Frogs win, but Wisconsin was the best team in our conference and nobody stopped them. They would beat MSU eight times out of ten. In hindsight, our loss to them was almost respectable. It is painful to say it, but they are the best Wisconsin team I have seen.

to bad Bucky is gonna pound it down their froggy throats...it pains me to say but I pick wisky to beat them down. They haven't faced an o-line and running backs lik Wisconsin's.

I wonder what Double B's coaching card says about that?

How many two point conversions will he pull on the Horny Toads?

Yep, I agree.

They are the best Wisconsin team that I've seen and as much as i'd like to see TCU's defense be able to hold up through the course of an entire game against Bucky, I just don't see it happening.
