Last year Becky beat the Beaver's 35-0. The line was +20. The Beaver's finished 3-9. They played a school record 10 true freshmen last year and have 15 returning starters. They threw a freshman QB Mannion up against Russall Wilson and had no running game ( 23 yds in 24 attempts) Wisconsin only has 11 returning starters, and graduated their top 2 DB's. Yes, they've a great OL and Monty Ball, but Danny
O'Brian ain't no Russall Wilson. On the DL they lost their sack guy Nzegwu and their best run stopper Patrick Butrym. They do have the best LB core in the BTN and they may need it this year The Beaver's are picked to finish 4th in the North Division. Phil Steele expects them to be in a bowl game. On final note, when they played at Wisconsin they were pretty banged up and yet Wisconsin only out gained them 397 to 284 in total yards. Don't bet the house, but there could be some gopher traps set on the Resner Stadium turf in Corvallis. Other non-conference that a upset could be sprung are Nebraska at UCLA. Phil Steele has them finishing behind USC in the South Division. Neuheisel didn't leave the cupboard bare and new coach Jim Mora Jr. an outstanding recruiting class. Another game that has the smell of upset is Boise State at MSU on Friday August 31. Boise State lost their outstanding QB Kellen Moore and only have 10 returning starters. Still, the last time that happened they went 11-1 in 2004. MSU is an enigma. The Gopher's were
27 point dogs last year at MSU and were only a couple plays away from leaving with
a win, losing 31-24. It is going to be a fun year with good early season non-
conference games where we could see an upset.

The sole purpose of your emails these days Ruppert seems to be making ridiculous statements regarding Wisconsin football that Badger fans can guffaw about and rehash on their message boards-or worse, talk about over here.

Maybe you could just ignore Wisconsin for a bit and turn your focus to the "U"?

Whoa there coolhand. I went through the last 13 pages of topics and came up with
14-15 related to the Badgers specifically. From Monty Ball, Their uniforms, BB, dirtiest player, Buckyville, players leaving, etc. I have two that are related. This topic on a possible upset and the attack that bordered on racism against Gray.
Before you become judge, jury, and hangman I suggest you do some homework.
If you also look back, I have several topics related to Gopher football in general.
You and Gopher in Iowa are quick to accuse. If that gives you your jollies that is fine. But my good man, all you are doing is throwing spitballs at a battleship.
Cheers.....

I tried this approach a while back. Rup just replied that it isn't true, he isn't focused on Wisconsin and I don't know anything. What finally worked the best for me was to add him to my ignore list (current population: 2). Not a perfect solution as I still see his stuff on occasion when people quote him, or get a flavor for the continued Wisconsin obsession on his thread titles.

Well geezo beezo I've made the exalted Snoozer ignor list. If I'm so ignored why do you comment
on me with your 95 some posts on Buckyville? Snoozer, you are a closet Becky fan and actually a mini- troll. I'm laughing at that Snoozer. You are a beauty! Oops, that right, I'm ignored. So be it.

Absolute zero chance on the first two. Outstanding chance on the third. I wouldn't even consider Boise St. beating MSU that much of an upset. Boise St. is a perennial top 10 team until proven otherwise. They've gone on the road and beaten a lot better squads than 2012 MSU.

Thanks for the reasonable response dpoddoll68. That was all I was really looking for. Respond to the topic at hand.
Jeez, some of these people get their shorts in a bundle.

Besides USC and the Ducks, Pac10 football is really bad. UW, MSU and the Huskers all roll. I will predict the Hawkeyes lose to NIU in Chicago tho.

Right now, I agree somewhat, only to quibble that Stanford will be good again this year, though not as good as they were with Luck. If you look where it'll be 3-4 years from now, I disagree. Washington has been recruiting very well. Cal is very up and down under Tedford, and never seem to reach their raw potential, so who knows. It's only a matter of time before WSU is very good under Leach. I think DickRod will be a much better fit in the Pac 12 than he was in the Big Ten, and Arizona should be good fairly quickly. I also think Whittingham is a very good coach and will have Utah very competitive once they get the recruiting benefit of being a Pac 12 school for a few years. UCLA is a recruiting power and could be very good if they can ever find the right coach. I think Riley is getting old and the game seems to be passing him by. ASU and Colorado look to be non-contenders in the near future, especially with their current coaches. I predict that any of them (aside from ASU and Colorado) could be conference contenders by 2015-16.

I agree with many of Your points but I base reality on results. Look at the pac10 bowl record the last few years. USC is thin(already lost both starting DE's for the year) and will lose to Utah and the Ducks this year. UCLA does not have an on campus stadium, recruits vs. the cross town school and now has the same academic entrance challenges as Cal, ND,Vandy ,NW, ect. NIU over Iowa, word.

Message board police are becoming a problem on this board. The biggest nerds on the planet are people who police message boards. We seem to have quite a few of them here. Ignore them.

Isn't this post just an example of you policing message boards?

I don't think that term is apt. People are free to post whatever they'd like, but other people are welcome to disagree with them. Simply because someone doesn't agree with someone doesn't make them a "message board police". Furthermore, simply because someone corrects another person who is wrong, doesn't make them a message board police.

Um, no. When I'm talking about message board police I'm talking about people who seem to get all worked up because someone posted something that had already been posted or discussed earlier.

And of course people can disagree on here, I wasn't referring to disagreements at all. I'm referring to the people who come on here and say things like, "this topic has already been discussed in another thread, mods please have this thread deleted" or something to that effect. I've never understood why they care if a similar thread was posted or if certain topics get discussed more than once. Not everyone has time to sift through the entire board to make sure the topic they are about to post about hasn't already been covered.

Dpodoll did the right thing. He actually addressed the op's topic without being a smartass about the topic itself and lecturing the op about what he/she is allowed to post on this board.

Awesome prediction ruppert!!! Well done!!

Go Gophers!!

UCLA playing Nebraska tough so far late in the first quarter.

And the martinez runs one in 92 yards...

Another moment of temporary insanity.

Good prediction by Rupert!

You guys beat me to it. ruppert's anti-Bucky ardor (not a bad thing) is so intense that my guess is he sometimes can't see straight, but great prediction.

It looks like the Big 10 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down this year.

Sir Rup, kudos on your wise predication!!! Very impressive to make this call weeks ago. What other upsets do you see in the future? GO GOPHERS!

Well, Minnesota and Indiana are 2-0!

One thing I learned today: "Matt Canada" is apparently drunken 'Sconnie for "Jedd Fisch." Enjoy it, Badger fans....
