Last year Becky beat the Beaver's 35-0. The line was +20. The Beaver's finished 3-9. They played a school record 10 true freshmen last year and have 15 returning starters. They threw a freshman QB Mannion up against Russall Wilson and had no running game ( 23 yds in 24 attempts) Wisconsin only has 11 returning starters, and graduated their top 2 DB's. Yes, they've a great OL and Monty Ball, but Danny
O'Brian ain't no Russall Wilson. On the DL they lost their sack guy Nzegwu and their best run stopper Patrick Butrym. They do have the best LB core in the BTN and they may need it this year The Beaver's are picked to finish 4th in the North Division. Phil Steele expects them to be in a bowl game. On final note, when they played at Wisconsin they were pretty banged up and yet Wisconsin only out gained them 397 to 284 in total yards. Don't bet the house, but there could be some gopher traps set on the Resner Stadium turf in Corvallis. Other non-conference that a upset could be sprung are Nebraska at UCLA. Phil Steele has them finishing behind USC in the South Division. Neuheisel didn't leave the cupboard bare and new coach Jim Mora Jr. an outstanding recruiting class. Another game that has the smell of upset is Boise State at MSU on Friday August 31. Boise State lost their outstanding QB Kellen Moore and only have 10 returning starters. Still, the last time that happened they went 11-1 in 2004. MSU is an enigma. The Gopher's were
27 point dogs last year at MSU and were only a couple plays away from leaving with
a win, losing 31-24. It is going to be a fun year with good early season non-
conference games where we could see an upset.
