This shit is getting out of hand. Take your loss and go home guys ...
Too bad he's not at No Consequences Alabama...
Has anyone ever suggested that?Maybe if we paid the players this wouldn’t happen
I interpeted his comment as sarcasm as being Oregon .... they getting paid.Has anyone ever suggested that?
If you handle some shit on the field from a fan.... don't deserve to paly. The one issue I have with the field storming trend is when the opposing teams players get caught in the middle of it. There was a shot of an Oregon Offensive lineman trying to walk off the field and there were Oregon State fans coming up and yelling right at him.
No excuse for the Oregon player to take a swing but I guarantee something was said to him by that fan that proceeded the punch.
If fans are going to keep rushing the field then something needs to be done to help make sure that they are kept away from the other teams players. Because drunk idiots on the field are going to say and do stupid things.
Again, not justifying what the Oregon player did but I would be willing to bet the fan wasn't innocent either. If fans want to rush the field, great, but leave the opposing teams players alone and let them get off the field. If you handle some shit on the field from a fan.... don't deserve to paly.
Fan is just walking around, he's about as innocent as it gets.Again, not justifying what the Oregon player did but I would be willing to bet the fan wasn't innocent either. If fans want to rush the field, great, but leave the opposing teams players alone and let them get off the field.
Zero excuse for punching a fan, but you really don’t think there are cases of fans running their mouths and obstructing opposing players when they storm the field? Come onFan is just walking around, he's about as innocent as it gets.
Remember the Alabama player who said he was "scared" and then later ... more videos of him punching another fan?
Dude is likely to give you the excuse you're looking for, I don't think you should buy it.
I don't care if a fan runs his mouth .... so what?Zero excuse for punching a fan, but you really don’t think there are cases of fans running their mouths and obstructing opposing players when they storm the field? Come on
I guess if you don’t care I’m not going to try to change your mind, but at a minimum players should be able to leave the field safely, and without harassment.I don't care if a fan runs his mouth .... so what?
I loved Blount for doing that. Boise player does Jump Around and finds out. This is the second time an Oregon player (LeGarrette Blount) has sucker punched someone in the post-game.
A young Scott Frost makes a cameo in the older video.
This one is an even worse look.
Agree. Fans don't belong on the field, but if they are going to come down there a bare minimum expectation should be to leave the players from the other team alone and let them off the field. They don't need drunk idiots getting in their face and making fun of them.I guess if you don’t care I’m not going to try to change your mind, but at a minimum players should be able to leave the field safely, and without harassment.
This is the same thing someone else was saying after the jumping at Michigan. What could have the fan said in your mind to make him "not innocent"?Again, not justifying what the Oregon player did but I would be willing to bet the fan wasn't innocent either. If fans want to rush the field, great, but leave the opposing teams players alone and let them get off the field.
Stop me if I've missed something but was this players safety in question? Additionally don't players receive smack talk all the time during the game, i.e. harassment.I guess if you don’t care I’m not going to try to change your mind, but at a minimum players should be able to leave the field safely, and without harassment.
Why is it so hard for some to accept that there is plenty of blame to go around. Do you believe the Oregon player was such a jerk that without the fan saying or doing anything he just decided to take a swing at him for no reason? This is the same thing someone else was saying after the jumping at Michigan. What could have the fan said in your mind to make him "not innocent"?
smack talk from the stands and smack talk from a few inches away are very different things.Stop me if I've missed something but was this players safety in question? Additionally don't players receive smack talk all the time during the game, i.e. harassment.
My point was the players amongst themselves are the ones talking smacksmack talk from the stands and smack talk from a few inches away are very different things.
When you use words like innocent, it implies guilt. If I call somebody something derogatory and they punch me in the face, what crime am I going to be convicted of? I put myself in the near occasion to be assaulted and while that isn't prudent, it doesn't change my innocence, i.e. one can't claim self-defense because somebody cursed at them. Why is it so hard for some to accept that there is plenty of blame to go around. Do you believe the Oregon player was such a jerk that without the fan saying or doing anything he just decided to take a swing at him for no reason?
Not sure how much more clearly I can say it but will try one final time just because I love a challenge.
Oregon player is in the wrong for taking a swing at a fan...period. He will get in a lot of trouble for it.
But the fan almost certainly said or did something prior to the small amount of video we saw that led to the reaction of the Oregon player. Doesn't make the reaction right but whenever there is an altercation like this there typically was something that caused it that almost certainly could have been avoided.
Go on the field and celebrate with your team, leave the opposing players alone. Problem solved, no incident happens.

To be clear I’m not at all downplaying what the player did, or even saying that any fan has ever deserved to be assaulted. I was just piggybacking off the other posters comment that fans need to behave if they rush the field.Meh. Sorry but if he can't handle a bit of trash talk then he should not be playing D-1 football. It wasn't like this was the guys throwing stuff at the Malice at the Palace or something he wasn't in any sort of danger.
Talk trash back...or go back to your bus, go back to school and bang every hot chick on campus. Never, under any circumstances, do you ever attack a fan. (especially one who did not appear to be harassing him anyways)
If I was the coach he would be done with my program.

Oregon player shouldn't have reacted but he also shouldn't have had to deal with a fan being on the field after a heartbreaking loss to a rival in a close hard fought game.

Because you made up the blame? Why is it so hard for some to accept that there is plenty of blame to go around.
