If thats all the productive he can be I'm glad he isn't in a Gopher uniform, who needs that.

Dripping with sarcasm. Many on here said Devoe was a cancer and the team would be better without him. Now they are changing their tune.
Where did I insinuate he would struggle? I said it would be interesting. As will every other game he plays against a non Pac-12 team.
I don't know where this notion that people think Devoe sucks comes from. No one has ever said (to my knowledge) Devoe sucks and we don't need him. He would have put up awesome numbers last year, had he avoided suspension. Andre Hollins had 2 twenty point games in the tournament. I am fully confident Senior Devoe Joseph could have done the same this year. Devoe was easily one of my favorite Gophers. I was a huge Devoe fan.
The issue with Devoe, is like it or not, Al was a better TRUE PG than Devoe was (the thing everyone knocks Andre for not being) so he was going to start at the point. Blake was a senior SG and he wasn't going to not start.
This season had he not quit? Devoe would have been the senior leadership, the go-to guy, the key to the teams success, etc. exactly like he is at Oregon. He would have taken less shots obviously in the Big10, but to think he would have rode the pine this year and not started is false had he stayed out of trouble.
Devoe is a good player, he puts up better numbers being in the Pac12. He is still a very good player. He is a senior. He played in a defensive minded system for 3 years and against Big10 competition for 3 years. That also helps him this season.
Point of the story is, Devoe QUIT. He decided he'd rather be a quitter than be suspended for other issues. You get no respect for that. None. Zero. Zilch. I don't care if Tubby screamed at him every single day and called him a little girl. As long as he isn't physically abusing you, stick out the last few months, enjoy playing basketball in front of thousands of fans and enjoy a likely NCAA tourney bid and probably a couple of wins. Something he will now never experience in his life because he is a QUITTER. Royce White is a quitter as well and he will never regain my respect as a quitter. Wait until the end of the year, then leave. What is the difference if you are sitting out because you quit or because you are suspended? None. You never know what could happen. Al breaks his foot, welcome back to the starting line up and the keys to the car Devoe. Laptop charges are dropped? Welcome back to the line up Royce, I think you'll have a pretty good year.
Quitters never win and winners never quit. Some day Royce and Devoe will learn that.
I don't know the reason Devoe was suspended, if it wasn't do to failing a drug test then Tubby screwed him royally and I fully support his quitting mid season. Based on on court game perfomance he earned a starting position going into his Junior year. If it was discipline reasons based on playing time and differences of opinion I think he did the right thing in leaving. If it was due to a failed drug test then Devoe screwed up.
