the meek: Rodney, RSIII, Colton, Hollins... meek, indecisive players... don't speak out, dont argue, don't rock the boat..

the strong who will be gone after this year: Chip, Trevor, Hoff (grad,of course).

the past 'strong' who could never be beating into tubby's harsh mold: westbrook, white, Devoe

this is why we collapse at the end of every game.. meek players not wanting the ball.. afraid to make a mistake... afraid of tubby.

strong personalities demand the ball, go to the hole, look for contact, get T'ed up from time2time.
the meek run and hide..

Dont think trevor is gonna leave, and with the exception of trevor, the strong dont play defense very well. Royce didnt even play here, that wasnt tubby's fault, and devoe was taking something to nuetralize his strong personality, which most likely led to his departure...

A bit of an overstatement I think. I don't think Tubby minds them having strong personalities if they play team ball, I think he minds them playing their own game a lot. Personally I think the reason he was hard on these guys was to try to light them up and see some fire, but it is just not a firey group, they get depressed instead of mad. Only Trevor and Chip are fighters at this point.

even if tubby and the 'strong' agree on 90% of basketball related issues, how does tubby handle that 10% difference?

Some coaches let these players have that 10%..
some coaches meet them in the middle.
Tubby won't surrender any of it.. hence, only the meek survive.

The problem has less to do with Tubby being an authority figure and more to do with an offensive system that rarely lets a guard create outside of the final five seconds of the shot clock.

Not Sure If Meek Or Not

But Gary Clark, Shea Seals, Shandon Anderson, Jeff Sheppard, Nazr Mohammed, Scott Padgett, Heshimu Evans, Wayne Turner, Jamaal Magloire, Tayshaun Prince, Keith Bogans, Marquis Estill, Gerald Fitch, Erik Daniels, Chuck Hayes, Kelenna Azubuike, Rajon Rondo, Randolph Morris (et al) seemed to survive under Tubby.

Don't feed the trolls!

You mean don't feed those that challenge Tubby, right? Don't feed the Tubby detractors. I want Tuhby to be our coach for a long time, but I see some truth in what this poster says.

FOT, the future is now.

not apples/apples when comparing 2011 minnie to 1990's Kentucky..

long list.. but other than one exception (rondo), not a deep list. 2010 Kentucky produced more talent than that entire list.

I don't know. There are multiple 10+ year NBA veterans on my list. Shandon Anderson, Nazr Mohammed, Jamaal Magloire, Scott Padgett. Others with 5+ years include Chuck Hayes, Tayshaun Prince, and Keith Bogans.

I doubt if Tubby is challenged by the likes of dbag.

too bad this board is littered with trolls like section and drdon who cant respond to content.

Thanks for the reference back to the Sullinger post. Dboy, you mentioned we should come back and revist the thread after a couple of months. Well it's a couple of months later. Sullinger, according to Gus Johnson, is the Big10 POY and the National POY.

So is he overrated? And you show me where I said Barnes was "a lock" as you've posted twice. Of course, it's easier to throw out garbage, be negative under the guise of "there are more misses than hits".

And this might seem a topic difficult to understand but analysts put together a top 5 All American List because they have to formulate an opinion. They don't release a list of "all the kids who don't make the list". Yeah, there are more misses than hits and I'm guessing in your life, you have lived that exact mantra.

if you want to keep banging the Barnes/sullinger drum, post on a different thread.. stick to the topic of the thread.

this reminds me of the chat room during the Northwestern game.. several veteran GHers PMing me vulgar comments just because I suggested the gophers go small and run.. why all the hate???

"However, to call Harrison Barnes overrated is flat out ridiculous. First team all American? I'll give him a solid yes. "

Gee, fancy that.. i called out Barnes back in December.. ( like a well-struck 7-iron )
everyone else was on the Barnes badwagon.. i was getting f-bombed for it.

Classic dboy. Won't respond to my questions because they are off topic and then goes off topic with his own post.

There are a few trolls on this board dbag is clearly one of the top.

From some of the stories I've heard, Joseph was an idiot. I don't think he represented the U very well. I'm glad Joseph is no longer on the team. Like I've said, I would rather lose this year without him and have him on our team and win. I don't want him as an example for our young players and as a leader on our team.

dude, are you loco???
you were just served on this one:

"And you show me where I said Barnes was "a lock" as you've posted twice"

i posted a link TO YOUR EXACT POSTING WHERE YOU SAID BARNES WAS A FIRST TEAM ALL-AM.

geesh...

anyway, hold you wad on Sullinger.. i don't care what Gus Johnson said.. let's wait until the Buckeyes vote him the TEAM MVP... then we can talk... i can already tell you Lighty and 3-bler finish 1-2.. so he's not even the MVP runner-up for the Bucks... but he's the national POY???

Clearly trolling with the original post being negative towards current members of the team. I don't know what team you are a fan of dboy but it sure isn't the gophers.

first post was player-neutral... some guys are 'meek' by nature.. just a fact.. not negative in itself.

also trying to help explain the late-game collapses.. why do guys stand around in the last 4:00? why did westbrook NOT stand around. tubby is reaping in the final 4:00 what he sows.
