Barton's bold prediction: The Boat keeps rowing to a Big Ten division title.

The word: PJ Fleck returns his quarterback and most of his offensive production. He has playmakers on defense. He misses Ohio State and Penn State out of the East and he gets Iowa and Michigan at home. While Minnesota has to travel to play Wisconsin, that game comes one week after Wisconsin will have tangled with Notre Dame at Lambeau Field while the Gophers will be coming off a likely win over Maryland. The schedule sets up nicely and Minnesota has the talent to build on the momentum of 2019.

Go Gophers!!

We clearly have a shot at a division title this year. Looking forward to see how it all plays out.

We had one last year as well but laid an egg against Iowa and Wisconsin. Both games were winnable. Iowa more so. We need to improve against good teams to really have a shot.

We played pretty well against Penn State and Auburn; those are good teams.

We played a horrid first quarter against Iowa, but after that outscored them 19-10 on their own field.

As poorly as we played against Wisconsin, the Badgers only led 10-7 at halftime. But Wisconsin outplayed us, no doubt.

The 2019 Gophers went 2-2 against teams that finished in the Top 15. That's "not too bad", as we like to say in Minnesota. You're correct in saying there is room for improvement — but they held their own pretty well against the Big Boys in 2019.

If the gophers beat every team they play not in the top 15 and go .500 vs teams in the top 15 every year....we will have one of the top 8-12 programs in the country

the team didn’t win the division last year. The poster said we need to do better to win it next year by winning another game...that’s all true

Schedule isn't much different than last year.

We need to win the games we are supposed to win. Duh.

And then there are these games:
Iowa - Home game against the easier of the Big 2 West rivalry games - feels like a win?
@Wisconsin - Never easy at Camp Randall. But they are coming off ND! Flip a coin.
Michigan - Say what you want about Khaki and Blue. They are always a tough out. Win the Jug boys!
@ Nebraska - Yep, sooner or later these guys are going to live up to their recruiting rankings. But I think they will be beat to hell by the four preceding games and our offense will roll.

It's all a question of do we make a mistake when we shouldn't and do we get lucky and go 3-1 or boy oh boy, go 4-0 in these games! The division will most likely come down to three or four plays and how we come out on those particular plays.

Here's hoping!

If you look at the schedule objectively, a division title is a realistic goal. It's no longer pie-in-the-sky to believe that this team can and should compete for the West, and compete well.

Wisconsin and Iowa are quality programs, but so are Penn State and Auburn.

We've already proved we can play with — and beat — the Big Boys, when we're on our game.

The B1G West championship is the next logical objective in Fleck's plan.
