per the World Herald:

Here came the snow. It fell like confetti on Wisconsin fans, who celebrated a decisive, blowout victory that seemed to fall out of the sky.

For Nebraska, the snow fell like teardrops.

This is sad now.

There are no more words. There are no more excuses. There’s only a Nebraska football program that can’t stop spinning its wheels, keeps driving itself into the same ditch.

Bo Pelini was supposed to be the tow truck. But seven years later, NU is still stuck, maybe more than ever. And it’s obvious Pelini doesn’t know how to get it out.

This ridiculous 59-24 loss to Wisconsin was proof. So was the way NU players let it happen. So was Pelini’s postgame comment when asked why these meltdowns keep happening.

“I have no idea,” Pelini said.

Go Gophers!!

It's going to be very interesting to see how Nebraska responds this coming Saturday. Despite the kryptonite Wisconsin seems to wield when playing them, they are still a very good, skilled team. I'd guess we're going to get Nebraska's best effort of the season. I hope our kids are up to the task in a very hostile environment.

And I'm convincing myself more and more that we're going to see the same effort they gave against Wisconsin. Made even worse when the crowd starts chanting, "Fire Bo," over and over. Please let me be right.

This is the new reality for Nebraska.

They should probably get used to it.

They're more likely to get worse than they are to get better (?).

If you think your last statement, you don't know Nebraska.

Will get interesting if we beat them.

Bo is 1-3 vs Wisconsin and the 3 L's have been by an average of 35 pts each.
He is 2-1 against MN and Iowa, but lost to both last year and losing to either this year could mean the end, which I think is sad.

I actually think they are better off with him and have heard his players love playing for him. He has managed at least 9 wins in every season he has been the coach. He could win 11 this year. If Kill does what he has managed, he will have the field named after him here at MN.

I think anyone who expects Neb to lie down against the Gophs next week is dreaming. I fully expect Neb to come out and try to blitz the Gophs early. (in case anyone has noticed, the Gophs have a disturbing trend of slow starts...). If the game is tied, or the Gophs are ahead after the 1st Qtr, I will feel a lot better about their chances.

again, I think the Gophs will have to play one of their best games of the season to win on the road. If the game was at TCF, different story - but playing them on the road makes me nervous.

If I'm wrong, and Neb folds like a cheap suit, that's great. I just don't think it's going to happen.

Huskers have always been my second favorite program (a distant second to the Gophers) going back to the Bob Devany era. Great tradition and a litany of football greats. I don't know how good they really are this year and I think we match up with them fairly well. Should be a good game if both teams play their best.

I think Pelini is one of those guys who will never be a legendary head coach (and his days might be numbered in Lincoln), but he'll never have trouble finding work if his head coaching gig comes to an end. He's a superb defensive coach.

PS--All one has to know about the expectations in Lincoln is that they fired Frank Solich after going 58-19 in six seasons that included 5 Top 20 finishes and three 10+ win seasons. One .500 season and a bowl appearance every year he was head coach. Studwell's right in that those days are probably done in Lincoln, but the expectations remain high.
