Oles, Tommies both win 1st game in Oshkosh

The MIAC's top baseball progams both needed extra innings to win their opening regional baseball games in Oshkosh. The Tommies' pitching staff will be severely tested after needing 17 innings yesterday to defeat Stevens Point.

Just a heads up SS, even though the game went to 17 innings the Tommies only used 2 pitchers. Matt Schuld (who started against the Gophers) pitched 12 innings and a rarely reliever Kris Edwards worked 4 shutout innings for the win. Schuld will probably be tested since he's the ace and will most likely be called upon again in the regional even though he threw 168 pitches.
