Any thoughts, grades, observations about performance, playing time, rotation, etc?

Obviously, the snaps, which can easily be corrected. I don't recall any incidents last year. I swear I saw Moore in their mashing on several key runs, so I think he had a decent game otherwise.

I thought Wright and Calhoun looked good. The biggest question (depth) luckily wasn't addressed. Weyler played several snaps when Calhoun went out, but I don't recall other backups getting extensive time. Hopefully next game we will get several guys some time.

Don't have a great eye, but from a laymen, I thought our pass blocking was improved from last year, not sure if maybe the passes came out quicker though too. Run blocking, meh. Smith had 125 yards rushing, but to me our run game wasn't really effective, when we needed it, it wasn't working. If we want to be dominant up front, we have a long way to go in run-blocking. This is something I really hoped we improved on, but I didn't see it yesterday really. I think they will improve over the next few games, more so than usual because ilthe coach/scheme is somewhat new to them, and they may be learning still.

Run game was all Smith. They had plenty of trouble getting any push when running the ball, couldn't pick up half a yard on that first drive. Pass blocking much improved. Overall I think they keep getting better each week. Remember that the QB is now responsible for getting the line in the right proper scheme so it's a little hard to evaluate.
