Folks are probably jumping the gun on this one too. Strange world we live in.
 

I don't even take headlines like this seriously anymore. Seems like they turn out to be false equally as often as they're true. And that might be generous.

If the position becomes available, Rice would be an intriguing prospect. Still has plenty of friends and fans in Vegas, well thought of locally. Some fans might clamor for somebody with a little more name recognition though.


Still not sold on Lon leaving though, like GWarrior said. Lon likes the desert a lot, but who knows.

Interesting story to watch in the next couple days.
 



Lon is a great coach who has won everywhere he has been. I would be concerned how long he would be there before retiring however.
 

Nice hire for Oklahoma. Finally, someone clean who will also win. Not that worried about the longevity arguement, he's within a couple years of age of Tubby when we hired him and will give them 8-10 years, most likely.
