I'm done making excuses for this guy. 94 yards passing against Brookings College says it all. One can only imagine the horrible stats he'll compile against that Iowa defense. I'm on they Gray bandwagon now. I don't see how MarQueis can do any worse.

yeah it was bad...so does this mean southern Ill. is better than us ??!!!??

A third year BT starter outplayed by a freshman qb for the second week running...not a great confidence builder going into Iowa City and looking toward next year.

But...Weber does have a MSU-type performance in his bag of tricks and strange things happen in collegiate fb.

you could put any pro style qb in with our offense, either way theyre getting sacked and hurried all game and the stats wont look pretty, hard to throw when your receivers arent even out of their routes yet

Fisch is questionable at best and o-line must get MUCH better. Weber deosn't have the skill to take this team to the next level, even if Fisch and the o-line were solid.

I supported Weber up til this game......sit em now and let him feel the pain.

The MSU game bought him a couple extra weeks for me, I was getting extremely fed up with him, and MSU has worn off and I'm back to absolutely hating him. I was so utterly frustrated today it was unbelievable.

The "I Hate Weber" stuff is pathetic. We can certainly be critical of his play, but to have the animosity towards him as a person is crap. He is a Minnesota kid who stayed home and has tried to be the guy to make the team better. Unfortunately, it has not worked out very well at this point, but lay off the personal attacks.

Edit- Not seeing this so much in this thread, but have in others, as well as on Rivals.

Great kid, below average QB.......

Let's light up the (Weber) grill. ;)

I've been supporting Weber all year, but after 3 years of watching him I've had enough. He's not a fit for this offense and never will be, so please try something else Brew!

Brew had the idea to run a pro-style offense, and he has 2 spread QB's, 3 spread RB's and a bunch of spread WR. WTF?!?!?!? Did he expect a seamless transition overnight to pounding the F'ing rock?!

Okay, I have to push the vein back in my forehead.... I've been quiet for far too long. I just have a hard time envisioning another year of Weber.

Offensive Line (again)

Any X's and O's geeks have answers to these two questions?

1) Why is our O-line so bad? technique, scheme, talent???

2) How can they pass protect like the 1984 Redskins vs. Michigan St., and then get completely owned by Illinois and SDSU??

He has regressed. If its coaching, I cannot figure what they worked on. He doesn't throw on time. He double clutches, throws without without planting his right foot and throwing. What mechanics did they work on? I even saw tape of him at practice taking the ball, clutching to the right and shifting his gaze left and throwing with his feet and shoulders parrallel to the line of scirmage. And Fish was standing right behind him. Is there a QB coach? Is it Fish?

I got back from the game, the barn is 60 feet long and 50 feet high. Standing at the backdoor of the house about 40 yards away I threw a football, and I hit the barn. As screwed up as Adam technique is I doubt he could do it.

You add to that an offensive line who cannot handle a four man rush, if there is a twist and or blitz we have no quick rthymn game. The quick hitch, slant.

What was it last year against Iowa? This team with Weber at QB has no chance against Iowa. And the longer Coach Brewster sticks with him, the more people will question not only his coaching but also evaluation of talent.

College football is big time business. The Big 10 is real big time business. We're paying the CEO's of each team in the Big 10 around $1.8 million/year. That's very big time business. Bigger, probably than all but 10 or so public companies in the entire State of Minnesota.

We're glad, thrilled even, that Weber stayed home. I love him as a young man. I'd be proud if he were my son or grandson. Now that I've covered that bit of B.S., what's he done for us lately? This is big business and Brewster as the CEO must pull the plug on non-performing people, it's that simple.

What we (I certainly) don't know is how much of Weber's problems are due to poor O Line play and how much is due to poor game planning and O coaching. I do know that he doesn't seem to understand that he doesn't have the ability back throw back across the field, he certainly doesn't have the ability to recognize when it's time to throw the ball away and he cannot escape when the pocket collapses.

What I don't know is whether or not there is a real problem with Gray or Brewster is just too damned committed to Weber to be willing to make a switch. If nothing else he should have benched Weber for one series immediately after he threw the inexcusable pick 6.

Again I still think we've made progress from last year, but boy was today a disappointment.

Husker is right

I agree with Husker...I don't think Weber ever steps into throws anymore. He tends to float them off his back foot. The are often high, hanging his receivers out to dry, or in the dirt. Step into your throws and hit the numbers - ugh!

I love the idea of Weber.....I don't like the play of Weber.

Give me Gray against Iowa, and run Marquies, run!

Adam is a great kid. I think somehow he has lost his confidence. Is it Brew or Fisch ripping him in practice or what? How can such a fine qb have lost it so quickly? I mean did you see the MSU game? he had it together. And now this. Who gets the blame?
