Penn State vs Georgia. ...Penn State could have easily been 5-7...Georgia in a cakewalk
Nebraska vs UCLA....Don't know who craps the bed worse, Nebraska or Wisconsin....UCLA easily
Indiana and Duke....Duke will score 30 points, but Indiana will put 50 on the board...Indiana in a shootout.
Ohio State and Notre Dame....Urban send a message and rolls up the score...Buckeyes in a hurtful way...
Northwestern and Tennessee. .. ..Cats get 3-4 key player back . 2 on an already very good defense....Cats win a defensive battle.
Michigan and Florida....Another game where Florida gets healthy against an overrated Michigan team...Florida by a lot..
Hawks against Stanford....Iowa left their guts out on the field against MSU...Stanford is as good or better than MSU. Plus, they're more balanced on offense than MSU. 40,000 Hawk fans will be taking out the crying towels in the 3rd quarter....Stanford ...Boola,Boola!!!
MSU against Alabama. Cook will be running for his life. I would take Alabama's walk-ons on defense for the Gophers on the DL....Alabama, and it may not be pretty...
Becky against USC. This maybe over at halftime if USC is focused. They get 4-5 skilled players back this game. The beer drinking and tank top crowd from Madison will be crying in their beer at halftime....USC
In a big way...
Gophers vs.Central Michigan. Yes, it is the worst of the minor bowl game, but a win is a win. 5 key players return and Gophers roll by 3 touchdowns. ....stranger than strange? More Gophers fans than one would think .....Happy Bowl Season from the Fly!!!!was

I'd take GA as well over PSU, likely by a pretty solid margin
I would take UCLA to roll Nebraska as well
Indiana Duke will probably see about 80 pts rolled up, but I'd take Indiana.
Give me OSU over ND as well. Think the Buckeye offense rolls big time and ND exposed for not being as good as their ranking.
NW and Tennessee strikes me as a toss up. But I'm going with Tenn due to inconsistency at QB for NW getting shown by a fast defense for Tenn.
I'll take Michigan over Fla. Fla's offense is just awful and Michigan has been good in Harbaugh's first season. I'd guess this one will be low scoring.
I'll take Stanford over Iowa, though it'll be closer than you're thinking. Stanford wins by about 7.
Give me Bama all day over MSU. If Cook throws out another performance like against Iowa, this one will be over by halftime.
I'll go with USC over Wisco as well. USC is a better team. IF they play like they're capable of, it will get ugly. But that's a big if.
Gophers should beat CMU provided we get a good number of guys back for the bowl game. Here's to hoping we have something to build upon in the offseason. Hopefully we get enough of a lead to see Croft. Well, hopefully we see Croft either way. Might as well give him some split bowl reps with ML since the RS is toast.

Some teams on this list play zero defense. I think the Big 10 will win more surprise.

Penn State vs Georgia. ...Penn State could have easily been 5-7...Georgia in a cakewalk
Georgia doesn't have there coaching staff in place yet but I still think they have to much for Penn State to overcome. Agreed PSU loses.
Nebraska vs UCLA....Don't know who craps the bed worse, Nebraska or Wisconsin....UCLA easily. Agreed Nebraska's defense will get whipped by UCLA offense.

Indiana and Duke....Duke will score 30 points, but Indiana will put 50 on the board...Indiana in a shootout. I agree Indiana will win high score fest.
Ohio State and Notre Dame....Urban send a message and rolls up the score...Buckeyes in a hurtful way.
Agreed Buckeyes will pound Notre Dame to thump there chest's and saying see we should have been in playoff. Elliot and company will be looking to go out in style.

Northwestern and Tennessee. .. ..Cats get 3-4 key player back . 2 on an already very good defense....Cats win a defensive battle. Agreed, having watched Tennessee's leaky defense three times this season, that is the main difference Northwestern plays defense and will win. Northwester is the pick

Michigan and Florida....Another game where Florida gets healthy against an overrated Michigan team...Florida by a lot.. I agree that I think Florida will win but the talent difference isn't that high on defense. For that reason I think Michigan will hang with them and is a potential upset. Pickem game.

Hawks against Stanford....Iowa left their guts out on the field against MSU...Stanford is as good or better than MSU. Plus, they're more balanced on offense than MSU. 40,000 Hawk fans will be taking out the crying towns in the 3rd quarter....Stanford ...Boola,Boola!!! Nobody but the Gophers seemed to put up points on Iowa this season, with that being a rivalry game. Common opponent is Northwestern and Iowa rolled them later in the season and Northwestern upset Stanford. This one to me is a pick em game. I am no Hawkeyes fan, but have a hard time believing Stanford will roll them.

MSU against Alabama. Cook will be running for his life. I would take Alabama's walk-ons on defense for the Gophers on the DL....Alabama, and it may not be pretty... Agreeed, Alabama's offensive playmakers will be the difference.
MSU will hang with them for the first half of football. In the second half they will wear down on defense and Alabama's ability to pass at a higher level will eventually put the Spartans down in the late third to fourth quarter.

Wisconsin against USC. This maybe over at halftime if USC is focused. They get 4-5 skilled players back this game. The beer drinking and tank top crowd from Madison will be crying in their beer at halftime....USC
In a big way... I disagree, Wisconsin will win. Having seen both USC defense and Wisconsins defense I think the Badgers have the better defense and will better control the clock and hog the ball just enough to beat USC. This version of USC isn't even as good as the two the Gophers played tough the two shot's we had at them. Wisconsin's ability to run the ball with multiple backs and the O-line push they get on USC defensive line, they are going to push them around will be the difference maker. I don't like Bucky, but I actually see them winning by 7 against USC.

Gophers vs.Central Michigan. Yes, it is the worst of the minor bowl game, but a win is a win. 5 key players return and Gophers roll by 3 touchdowns. ....stranger than strange? More Gophers fans than one would think .....Happy Bowl Season from the Fly!!!!
Agree, Gophers will win, due to getting more health hopefully Myrick and Richardson back, and a more wide open offense. I fully expect the Gophers to open up the offense with more play action and more balls down field than we have seen this season. Line will give Mitch some time to hit some deep middle shots.
CMU has a good defensive line that is good against the runs up the middle. Gophers will likely need to hit some smoke screens to take advantage of some mismatches. Hopefully the coaches we have left can identify the correct mismatches on the field.
I have Minnesota, Indiana, OSU, Northwestern, Wisconsin as Big 10 wins. I dislike Bucky but think they beat USC by wearing them down.

Penn State and Nebraska for sure losses based on opponent. I will be rooting for Michigan State against Alabama but don't see them winning.

The two swing games are Michigan and Iowa, I call those games pickem's because having seen both teams defense's live, they have a chance to win because they both have really good defensive teams. Even though Minnesota played both tough, they Michigan and Iowa managed to snag victory's from our team. I wasn't that impressed with Stanford beating USC again and Michigan let a victory get away from them against Michigan State.

Don't like either school and even though they are conference affiliates I will not be rooting for them, but my logical side say's both will have a chance in those games, not just because of opponents but because they play good defense.

The reason I predicted a USC blow out because by all accounts they get several skilled players back for the game. The Badgers may get Clements back , but I think the kid is a head case.

Florida will be lucky to score any points, Michigan will smash them

Ohio State, Northwestern, Michigan State, and the Gophers win. I think Penn State has a shot tho vs Georgia. Would like to see them win

Running teams, gave us more problems than passing teams, CMU ran for 1203 yds vs 3760 passing. With Myrick injured, we had some trouble playing nickel and dime packages, get him back and things look better, get Richardson back in the D line and we look even better.

Fyi...my predictions are based on going to each team Web site and see what players have been lost during the season, and who has a chance to come back for the bowl game. For instance, Northwestern. They went in and beat Becky with great defense. And now according to Fitz they're getting a couple players back on each side of the ball. The Gophers are in the same situation. You get back players that make plays.

Ruppert, I can't wait to post on this thread in a month when your predictions are proven to be terrible. Sure are calling for a lot of blowouts.

USC has been decimated by injuries and have been playing some youngsters all over the two deeps. They are dangerous when healthy and have high level talent all over the field. If Wisconsin doesn't have a healthy Clement this could be another beautiful demolition, although I think the Wisky D keeps them in it. I've seen too many head scratching belly flops by USC to feel confident about this one.

Stanford is the better team by the metrics and the old eyeball test. I love the matchup along the lines though. Iowa played their near-best vs MSU and still dropped the game despite Connor Cook struggling with his bad shoulder. If Iowa gets the bounces it could be close but I'm fairly confident about this one. Should be an entertaining game though. CJ Beathard is pretty clutch -gah it pains me to say that.

Alabama looks better this year than last year on defense. Their offense isn't particularly dominant, so if MSU can find a way to move the ball they have a chance. Can Alabama abuse the MSU secondary if they bring their safety down to help with Henry and company?

The rest, who knows. I haven't watched any Penn State, Indiana this year. Michigan has the talent and the coaching to beat Florida. I will be cheering for every Big Ten team except Wisconsin and Iowa, although that should go without saying.

gophers win this going away if we get our DTs back. They won't be able to run effectively and our secondary should be ready to go with 3 weeks of R&R.

Michigan vs. Florida... do you think the score even makes it to double digits?

Alabama's ability to pass at a higher level (than MSU)? Going to disagree with Ruppert on that one. If Cook is healthy, his shoulder heals in the next 3+ weeks, I'll take MSU's passing attack over Alabama's.

Alabama nothing special at the QB position, that's one of the reasons I don't mind this matchup for Sparty. MSU's biggest weakness is their DBs, but I don't think Alabama has the QB to exploit that. Coker nothing special.

The B1G bowl game result I'm most sure of? Michigan will beat Florida. As Matt mentioned it's likely to be low scoring, but I can't see the Harbaughs losing to that dreadful offensive outfit.

40,000 Hawk fans will be taking out the crying towns in the 3rd quarter....Stanford ...Boola,Boola!!!
MSU against Alabama. Cook will be running for his life. I would take Alabama's walk-ons on defense for the Gophers on the DL....Alabama, and it may not be pretty...

I have 6 of the 10 B1G teams winning:
Georgia over Penn State
UCLA over Nebraska
Indiana over Duke
Ohio State over Notre Dame
Northwestern over Tennessee
Michigan over Florida
Stanford over Iowa
Sparty over Bama
USC over wisconsin
Gophers over Central Michigan

Duke hasn't won a bowl game since 1960. The streak continues vs. Indiana.

Nebraska will make UCLA sweat, but I don't trust Armstrong to stop doing stupid things long enough to call for an upset.

The Gophers squeak past the Chips.

USC is impossible to predict. They already gave the coaching gig to Helton, and this is the same bowl they were in last year. I've got this as a toss-up, but the motivation factor favors Sconnie.

Georgia-Penn State: first team to 14 wins. UGA.

Florida is not good, period. Michigan kicks an early field goal and coasts from there.

Northwestern struggles to score points vs. Tennessee, who wins their bowl game to become the trendy 2016 SEC team that fails to meet expectations (see also: 2015 Tennessee).

There is not a more sure thing in the postseason than Notre Dame flopping in major bowl games. Buckeyes big.

Stanford by two TDs over Iowa.

Alabama avenges their Sugar Bowl flop from last year by edging Sparty.

Big Ten goes 5-5.

S RJ Williamson back for MSU in semifinal game

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/c...15/12/08/msu-football-rj-williamson/76990692/

This can help MSU significantly, as DB where Sparty is most vulnerable. Williamson was a starting safety before his injury. Other than Cook, who should be fine three weeks from now, MSU is as healthy as it's been all season. Can their physical OL and DL's go toe to toe with Alabama's?

Seriously Ruppert; if Wisconsin played a High School Girls Powder Puff team, I'm betting you'd take the Powder Puff team?

I agree that Wisconsin has a few drunk and obnoxious fans, but you have nothing to gain from your constant "badgering" of them. It's kind of ******hawkish.

You can't take anything for granted in bowl games. You never know what team you show up with, or what team
your opponent will have. They may be at their best, or close to their worst.

If both teams come with close to their best, it should be an entertaining game. CMU will be no pushover. We need
to be very focused on getting win #6.
