Ohio State football: Braxton Miller hurts shoulder again, sources say

This would be a huge blow if he out for the season or for a while.

I actually kind of like Miller. It certainly stinks to see a kids college career shortened if this is true.

If there's one program in the Big Ten that can "afford" to lose its star QB, it's OSU. Nevertheless, tough loss for the Bucks if he's out for any extended period of time.

Tough break for the kid. That said, it kind of made my evening.

It's the year of the Gopher! Northwestern down. Ohio State down. We're comin!

Everyone forgets the Big 10 East goes through East Lansing

Even without Miller, OSU will still be undefeated when it heads to East Lansing. That's when the rubber will hit the road in the East.

He will return for the game against us and have a career day. Luck O the Goph's.:D

Not so fast, this could be the year that the Lunch Pail Defense rises up to shut down TOSU, and special teams win the game. Its their only non conference loss.

Look for Cardale Jones to start. Was a high 3 star and has impressive size that i remembered in the Purdue game. Reminds me a lot of Demry Croft or a poor mans Terrell Pryor. There is definitely a huge talent gap between Braxton and the next best guy. Stephen Collier was also a high 3 star and JT Barrett was a top 300 recruit as well on their roster.

Actually i take that back. Look for Barrett to start. Redshirted last year and seemed to have beat out Jones just a few days ago.

tOSU lost a lot on offense even before the Miller re-injury. They need to replace their top pass receiver and 4 offensive linemen and their top two rushers now that Braxton is out. Teams losing that much, doesn't matter who they are, don't go undefeated and don't win championships.

Chalk it up a W when they come to town!

This tweet is the only thing I remember about Cardale Jones.

Barrett is expected to start in place of Miller. High 4* DT QB out of Wichita Falls, TX. Tremendous athlete and listed at 6-1 225. Probably won't miss much running the ball, but being a redshirt FR, I would expect the passing game to struggle for a few starts. The first 2 games @Navy and Virginia Tech will give us a good indication of where he is at in his development.

That makes it official. Looks like it's Michigan State or bust in terms of the Big Ten's chances of getting a spot in the CFP. If Sparty loses to Oregon, pretty much zero chance for the Big Ten unless Sparty runs the table and runs roughshod over the rest of the conference.

Perhaps I'd be wise not to dismiss OSU, however. They're still OSU, with boatloads of talent.

This is bad for the B1G. Like it or not they are the standard bearers for the conference. Need a NC to garner some national respect. Another NC for the SEC just became more likely.

OR...opens up an opportunity for a lunch pail team like the Gophers to rise, get everyone in America loving this team and win the first ever NCAA playoff championship thingy, which is even better for the B1G than tOSU doing the same old same old.

One can dream right?

Why is it a dream? Same old same old says same old same old... Let's play the games.

GO GOPHERS!!!

Although I think Ohio State is out of the National Championship running, I'd be willing to bet they still finish in the 10-2 range.
The Gophers went 8-4 last year with far less talented QBs splitting the load and had the same amount of experience (year 2) as Barrett has.
Along with the talent on the rest of the roster and one of the best coaches in college football, Ohio State will be just fine.

They still have the best D-line if not best from 7 in the country. And this will be the fastest Buckeye team offensively in quite some time. Wilson, Samuel and Elliott will be deadly.
