Ohio State has moved their great left tackle, Thayer Munford, to left guard. Great right tackle, Nicholas Petit-Frere moves to left tackle. Huge load of experience on the left side now—to protect new QB from guys like Mafe and Carter? Replacing Petit-Frere at right tackle is their Faalele imitation: 6’8” 360 lb Dawand Jones. Not as worried about Esezi? Article discusses this possible tinkering with OL line. Ryan Day just made it official. The chess game is on.

I really doubt they are looking at the Gophers roster when making these moves.

Might be looking at protecting the new QB’s blind side in general though. Maybe new RT is so good (like Faalele) that they’ve just got to get him on the field, which makes for a shuffling of positions. Our OL talent is very good. OSU’s is pretty amazing, too. I think this could be one hell of a game.
