Man are you negative...I get it you liked tubby but he's gone. Time to move on and hope that things will get better under the new regime.

Nobody should judge this hire on whether he lands the big three. If he does then great but if not he deserves the chance to show what he can do regardless. I would say he same for any coach. And btw I don't think an AD should make a hiring decision based on recruits either.

Ohhhhhh disagree...he needs to come in and recruit the living crap out of the Big 3. If this Sun Belt guy let's all three cross the border the Tubby....sorry... I mean the Richard Bashers will be out in full force.

People that are obsessed with getting the big three don't understand recruiting or those types of kids. They don't care about Minnesota like fans, they just want to get there business done so they can go to the NBA. They have no allegiance to Minnesota, and we won't get any of them. Who cares! We'll get more maliable players who actually want to play college basketball!

I'm sure he will recruit them hard. If he gets none but we win a conference title in the next four years, will it matter to you? I doubt it.

Let's see how many times Tim Brewster can be mentioned now that the Ryan Saunders,Saul Smith telethone is over. Heaven forbid Gopher fans show any positive enthusiam for a hire most national pudits think was very good.

So now we like the media and value their opinion because they are saying what we want to be true. But when they don't, they are hacks, lazy, etc..

The main hacks in my book are local media. The divide between them and national types over this hiring seems strange. Of course the national media doesn't spend it's time reliving the life and times of Tim Brewster or Saul Smith's nights on the town.
