This week has dragged on. I hate the feeling of a loss, but failure is growth and Fleck will have the team ready, no doubt. We need to re-establish our swagger and take Northwestern to the woodshed. We can't overlook this game at all and I don't think we will.

GET 'ER DONE FLECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very curious to see the response after a loss to a quality opponent. Should win by 20+ points, but we'll see.

Looking forward to this game. Our guys won't let us down and will play well in my mind.

I still can’t fathom how Minnesota is playing a Big Ten winless Northwestern team in late November as the national ABC game. Of all the signs of the football apocalypse we have seen in the last few weeks this might be the most absurd compliment of them all.

Spoke to my dad in Atlanta who watched the PSU game. He's a UGA alum/fan who said we "were fun to watch, especially the coach."

I asked what our slogan is and after a pause he replied "row the boat to shore." My reply was I don't think we care whether we get to shore or not but rowing was certainly part of things.

Progress.

NW is way better than their record.... let's hope they continue to underachieve today. Go Gophers-------------------> 10 - 1!!

Based on what? Close loses to Nebraska and Purdue? Their Defense is ok, their offense is a complete clown show and may be breaking out another QB who wasn't good enough to beat out the crappy ones who played before him.

In order to lose this game we will have to beat ourselves with turnovers and mistakes. If we do that anything can happen but this is not a good Northwestern team this year.

Just said on gameday that Morgan is going to play. And that their transfer QB might be playing as well.

Does them beating Wisconsin on the road if you eliminate defensive TDs?
How quickly one forgets.

However, their team is quite different w respect to injuries. But do not be oblivious to how they played in Madison.

Yep, Morgan is warming up with other QB's on field now. Still uncertain if he will start.

Is "cleared to play" the same as "will start"?

No guarantees with anything, but I believe that if "the protocol" works, a player is either in or out. No football activities if out, and not cleared until ready for full action.

Morgan was the first player on the field for warmups and probably the first off the bus.

Any given Saturday always applies to any college football game. But this Northwestern team also got blown out by Michigan State, Ohio State, Iowa, Indiana.....

I feel like a lot of people want to make this game out to being like Iowa last week when this is far closer to Rutgers then it is to Iowa. Losing to Iowa on the road is a good loss in the eyes of pretty much everyone, losing to this Northwestern team would be a bad loss.

We win this game if we play well at all. If we lose it will almost certainly be because we played really poorly and made a ton of mistakes.

I'd selfishly rather Tanner sit out merely to assure his health for the rest of the season, but i'm glad he's gonna have the opportunity to add to his numbers in his potentially record setting season.

Agree. The NU team is far worse than Iowa. The game should not be made out to be that.

But would not discount the data points of their other games not listed. As we know, Ryan Field has been a house of horrors the last six years. Fitzgerald has a resume to his name in those games/proven to be one of the highest quality head coaches in the nation.

Hope we beat the spread. We will see.

Very happy that Morgan may play! Beautiful day here in the Twin Cities, and it looks like a good football day in NW. Cheers to the fans that made the trip.

Former #1 QB recruit, Hunter Johnson, is starting for NW. Should we be concerned?
