We went undefeated in October!!! We playing ball!!!! And now it's time to exercise a big demon, that is the ugly 0-10 record vs Bielema. From the way he treated Brewster, to going for 2, to being a smug and arrogant ass, and somehow beating us 10 straight times, enough is enough.

And now we got the Squad to do it. We got swagger, we got moxie, we got Max, we got Koi, we got Jackson, we got Walley, we got Fleck, we got Goldy.

The streak ends. No coach, and I mean no coach, not even the largest among them, beats us 11 straight times.

Let's win 4 straight!!

I think a legit argument could be made that this is the biggest game of PJs career. Goes down to Illinois and beats fatboy then we have something going here in ‘24. Historically, I feel like he’s layed an egg in these sorts of situations more often than not.

Start fast; take sellout crowd out of the equation. Play a complete game: make good half-time adjustments; don’t purposely go turtle in the 4th Q. And, most important, win the turn over battle decisively. Tall order. But the way both our offense and defense have come together recently, it isn’t an unrealistic hope. Go Gophers!

It’s only the biggest game of his career inasmuch as the next game on the schedule is always the biggest one in his career. Its ridiculous to think he has not coached multiple bigger games than this.

Yeah, it’s not that big of a game really. People are hyping it because of a stupid streak that was mostly built while BB was at Wisconsin playing gopher teams that had inferior talent.

I see that, though it does seem kind of big in the sense that the 11-2 season was awhile ago now, PJ has a losing record in conference play. A win here over a ranked team on the road against a coach who seems to have our number could could help with the narrative which, at the end of this season, could be "has Fleck taken the Gophers as far as they're going to go?"

Maybe my memory is fuzzy, but I feel like Brewster built up a lot of credit by beating a ranked Illinois team on the road, didn't he?

Still has a far better conference record than Mason or Kill. As far as Minnesota coaches go, he's done well.

Brewster beat Illinois to go 7-1 if memory serves me but then they lost 4 in a row?

We got to 7-1 the following week beating Purdue. We were favored at home the following week against Northwestern, and in my opinion, the highwater mark of the Brewster era came after we erased a 10-0 lead in that game, got a stop to get the ball back in the fourth quarter, and it seemed like after a rocky game against Northwestern, we were back on track to win and keep rolling. Then came a game winning pick-6 for Northwestern.

I think that's taking it a little far. Biggest game of his career was wisconsin in 2019 and you could make good cases for any of the games down the stretch of that season. Penn State, iowa, Auburn too.

I think with a win today and a win against Rutgers, the 2024 Penn State game could be the biggest game since that season.

Joel Monroe missed a 20 yard field goal late in the third.
Game tied 17-17.
Traye Simmons returned an interception to the Minnesota 44.
Weber 19 yard run to the NU 37 - 1st down
Start of the 4th
4th and 4 from the 31....fake field goal fail.

Would've been 8-1 and ranked top 15.

I just realized I hate Penn St more than any other team in the league. They are noobs. Lets get these next two wins and then go poke them in the eye.
 




Avenge the bizarre 1993 game at Champaign when we intercepted five passes (if memory serves) and lost when a slow fingered Illinois clock operator stretched the last minute of the game. It was Jim Wacker’s second year and the Gophers had won three in a row including an upset of Wisconsin the previous week.
 



 


Let’s keep the good times rolling with a W today. We really need to get one back against Illinois. Last year still haunts me. Let’s row to four in a row!
