It's cupcake time!! The hated Catamounts are first up. Time to cut down turnovers, get Martin, Buggs and Konate some valuable PT and stay injury free. GET 'ER DONE PITINO!!!!!

The Catamounts are not much of a defensive team due to defensive lapses and giving up on plays. They however will fight for steals in their defensive sets. This team does emphasize winning games from their offense and will rely on their three point shooting. They are currently shooting 34% threes, but they make up for that with volume. They have scored 67 3pters this season (21st in the country) and they have already tossed up 195 (9th in the country).

Pressure them on the perimeter and rely on our bigs to shut down any attempt of movement in the paint as a result of our defense being spread apart and the game is ours.

Please gophers let's be a sub 13 turnover team tonight.....

This is the kind of team that gives us trouble. We have such weak interior defense, it's hard to count on defending the goal without double teaming. Similar to Tubby's ball line defense, we seem to always be cheating a perimeter defender into the post and always seem to be chasing the ball.

This team averages almost 27 three point shots a game. That's insane...

Also they only lost to Alabama by 6. Alabama arguably currently is a top 40 offensive teams.

I feel like Joey King is going to have his hands full pressuring the perimeter and crashing the paint to assist mo, elliot and konate.

I like our chances if they base their offense around the three, attempt the 9th most, but only make the 21st most.
 



Got that first turnover out of the way early in the game...
 



Poor rebounding to start this game. Being outrebounded 2-1 in the first 8 minutes. No one boxing out, just jumping for the ball.

Just heard...10 rebounds for WCU compared to 1 rebound for the Gophers. Uggh.
 






Ugly so far. How are we getting out-rebounded by this team? Brutal. And yes, Martin is a hot mess. I know it takes big guys longer to be ready to play, uff da.
 

Richard Pitino has absolutely nothing to work with here outside Hollins, Mason and Mathieu. The other guys are rather unskilled, not athletic, have low bball acumen and have no fun when they play. Also, there is no chemistry between the backcourt guys and the big men. How they hung with Louisville for a half is just plain amazing!
 

16 minutes gone and Mo Williams has...ONE rebound. Someone forgot to tell the kids to wake up before the game.
 

Embarrassing so far. Especially the rebounding.
 


This game has shown just how non-athletic our bigs are. Mo and Elliot looking terrible so far.

Pitino digging deep for a spark by putting Shell in the game.
 


1 point lead at halftime. Unreal.
 


is it my imagination, or does the absence of Austin Hollins make a huge difference to the look and feel of this team?
 


I'm in Wisconsin and can't see the game, but I assume this speed lineup is the root of the tough "un athletic" performances from our bigs?
 

When the ball comes off the board, all the bigs just stare at it.

Defensively yes, but I remember him turning the ball over and shooting terribly most of the season last year. The problem is our bigs just aren't very good. Each of our bigs have their own issues... Mo having weak/soft hands. Elliot not being able to score. King not having any athleticism. And none of those guys like to rebound.
