Let's get after it early today. Bowl eligibility and a road Big Ten win will be the result.

Early and often is key. Establish the run and utilize tight ends in play action. Get I down and they should fold. Only 3 pt FAvorites makes me nervous.

Yep, lets hope we come out firing today. I'm not sure that has happened in a game yet (sure, after Purdue scored first we railed them, but they still scored first). Make it 14-0 and never look back, and they will crumble in front of 25,000 fans.

If we take the ball first, we can't start with a 3 and out. The atmosphere will be like a high school game. Take it down the field for a TD and then have them go 3 and out. If the Gophers get up big by halftime you won't have 20,000 people left in a big stadium.

Well said ruppert. If we get the 1st possesion, scoring a TD is an absolute must. After scoring the opening TD, we must force a 3 and out. Conversely, if we kickoff, I think forcing a 3 and out punt would be huge followed by a TD.

We need to come out and set the tone early! Hopefully Coach Kill and staff has us ready to go!

Let's get 50... beat them worse then Purdue...

Would love to see it. More than anything though I want to see a well prepared team take the field and do to Illinois what everyone else is doing to them this year. No excuses about being young or whatever, throughout this season we have shown enough ability to look at this game as one we should win if we play our game and they play theirs.

If we hit the field ready to play and don't kill ourselves with stupid penalties or turnovers then at the end of the game we should be 6-4 and starting the speculation about what bowl game we end up in.

Weather forecast is interesting. Temps will be in the upper 60s, but the winds are gusting around 20 mph.

Many folks make fun of the minor bowl games and 6-6 teams going to a bowl, but without the bowl eligibility issue of today's game, how much incentive would there be for us fans and some players?

I agree with you but I just don't want to go to the spud bowl in Morehead!

Any links for the game live streaming? My BTN is showing Iowa v Pur

First of all, it's spelled Moorhead, unless you married a gal I used to date who always screamed morehead!!!

If ya come to Margo/Foorhead, I will serve you the very biggest and best bowl of spuds with Norwegian meatballs, gravy, lefse, cranberry salad, tea, and crumputs.

If that does not sound inviting, head up I-94, pick up station19 and freshtrout at Alexandria, and we will meet a Mable Murphy's in Fungus Falls for lutefisk dinner.

That will be free, on me. You will have to buy the drinks. :cool02:

That is a sucker deal! Do you how many aquavits I would have to buy before I could eat lutefisk? My wife is a Norwegian citizen and hates going to Norwegian-American's homes because they think real Norwegians like lutefisk. Now she just tells them that she is allergic to lye.

P.S. My apologies to Moorhead for my misspelling of its name.

People may make fun of minor bowl games, but what they really mock is not going to a bowl game at all. The bowl game on the line does make the game more compelling, but the Gophers were plenty motivated in the finale against Illinois last year, although the fans might not have been. Those that showed up got a treat.

Maybe he was talking about Morehead, Kentucky, the home of Morehead St.?

Gophers going with white tops on gold pants today for first time this season.

We really really really need to score first and not give them hope from the start.

Looks like Iowa-Purdue will go to OT so we won't see the beginning of our game. At least not here.

Does BTN have the ability to cut over for locals?

The more I think about it, don't the 2:30 games usually start around 2:40?

I might have spoken too soon. Purdue is now in field goal range.
