Alright Gopher fans, the Niko Medved Era officially begins tonight at The Barn, LFG!!!!! We have a proven program builder, we have a coach with a proven system, we have a coach with a proven reputation!

The squad lacks size, but we should make up for that with some depth, with shooting, with an offensive system that moves and flows.

It starts tonight, when Medved takes stage at The Barn, all eyes on him, a job he dreamt of for years and years. A job he worked hard to get. A job he deserves.

For the first (official) time in what I hope will be years and years of game day posts:

The sports section has really gone downhill. Some of it is due to moving the printing to a new facility that requires stories and games to end sooner, some of it is due to the Star Tribune trying to drive you online for content, and some of it is due to cuts.

The amalgamation has really hurt the Sports Print product.

I have faith in Medved's ability to implement an offensive system which is something this program has been lacking for far too long. I also expect to see improved effort and energy from our team defensively.

With a smallish roster, positional rebounding is something I'll personally be paying attention to along with turnovers, FT% and what % of our offensive looks come from the perimeter versus at the rim.

Exciting fresh start for our program...wish I could watch. Looking forward to game updates on here from those of you that can.

I was debating this before the NDSU game. Found a "coupon" on the BTN channel for 50% off. It was a monthly offer, it renews after a month but only for three months. I'll keep it for 3 months because the women have some games also. I've seen offers today but for a year, not monthly.
