***OFFICIAL CAMPBELL AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

I'm not crazy about the word "fit" because it's often ambiguous but I do think these five starters "fit" well together. You can have more talented players but they may not play as well together as these starters do.

As far as the two primary subs, no scoring but they combined for 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 7 steals, 2 blocks, and only one turnover.

It's probably in his best interest to red-shirt and get paid another year.
I gotta imagine the market tanks for players like Omot. Teams with deep pockets won’t waste their time and teams with shallow pockets won’t take the risk unless there’s a huge discount.

It really bums me out. With Willis, Omot, and Vaihola healthy, this team has a much different ceiling.

I agree. I think it's more likely they stay.

You know some of the Big 10 teams that you only play once?

Why the hell can't they play some of those games right now.

These games are boring as schit.

Omot definitely is starting to feel like the guy that never played last season and then went back to free agency. Growing skeptical we'll ever see Omot in a Gopher uniform.
The weird thing is he played in the 1st exhibition game.

I'm now assuming him and Viahola are done for the year. With NIL these are the type of guys who have 0 reason to try to play. They got paid, they'll never get a pro deal, they will get a red shirt and play on a team next year and get paid again. These NIL deals are going to need to have stipulations or insurance on them soon.

Kai had a perfect opportunity, but he passed it off. Freshmen often tend to defer.
Kai's shot isn't falling, but he's still contributing with valuable hustle and keeping the offense moving.

If so, we're one injury away from disaster. Sucks.

He looked pretty stiff and awkward in the exhibition. Kind of wild though that he’s just been completely out with very little updates.

Maybe but guys still get paid in the pros when they are injured and get held out while tanking for picks

I’m so excited to meet our new benefactor. I hate cbb now
I doubt that we will ever have big money. But I think with revenue sharing, we will have enough money to get really good players- not superstars but guys with skills that fit the system and have the size and athleticism to compete at this level. I think with the right scouting Niko can find the kinds of kids like Butler did years back when they got to the championship game. The stuff Niko runs reminds me of that team.

100%. Niko will get you shots, you just gotta make em. He would have made Christie a first round pick.
