Myles Brand, the former Indiana University president who fired you, died in 2009. What did you think when you heard?

I didn’t like the guy. In fact, the first time I ever did anything with him, I said, “This guy will be a problem for a lot of people here.” I felt that way when he was alive, and I felt that way when he was dead — and never wasted any time on it.

Indiana’s current coach, Tom Crean, has been trying to get you back to Bloomington to have some sort of homecoming. I imagine you’d receive a hero’s welcome.

I don’t need a hero’s welcome. What do I need a hero’s welcome for? Obviously I don’t have any interest in going back, or I would have, it’s that simple.

Go Gophers!!

Bobby Knight on ESPN, or any other network, as a commentator leads to an immediate channel change. What a miserable excuse for a human being.

I actually like Knight quite a bit when he calls games. He actually analyzes what is going on and does so without pulling punches.

Plus I think his big F U attitude towards IU is kinda funny.

Perhaps, true, but the guy does know basketball and gives more insight into the game in a few minutes than most of the other commentators do in weeks. He calls himself a teacher and I must admit, I usually learn something when he is talking about basketball. Would never have succeeded under him, though. It takes a special toughness to endure that approach for very long.

I think any bad outweighs the positive when he does games. He's one of those individuals that is such an unlikable jerk you can't enjoy his work. There's also the watchability factor of the game he's broadcasting.

I agree on all points. I enjoy listening to him most of the time.

I agree. His analysis of game action is pretty good and of course if he came across Pure Knight he would be off the air. I imagine getting whacked from IU hurt him more than he would care to admit. I don't think he's smiled once since.

Bobby Knight has one of the greatest eyes for talent basketball has ever seen. He also is one of the best teachers of the game ever. I enjoy him most of the time.

I can't make any sense out of him.

And I don't think espn can either. They've demoted home to one step away from irrevelance. If the Ivy league had a conference tournament he'd get the assignment.

Still like his comment about being buried upside down, so people can kiss his __s

Since I've commented on his stern countenance, i have to report that I did see coach Knight smile today! Of course, he was in a Chili's restaurant commercial so you know he was well paid for it.

Bobby Knight is a Dick. Being a good coach/commentator doesn't change that. He's still a Dick.

Who cares? I like his commentating for the most part. It's not like anyone here has to deal with him in real life. He has had a positive effect on the lives of many. Few can say that.
